Affirmations are powerful. Why? Because by saying, hearing, or writing a powerful affirmation, you manifest it into your brain over and over again until you actually believe your affirmation. This way, it’s possible to reprogram your brain and even overwrite deeply rooted limiting beliefs with new, empowering ones. And a new belief system is basically equal to a new reality.

So I want you to go ahead and please downshift your gaze or close your eyes.

I want you to go ahead and lay your palms,

If you're seated,

On your lap.

And if you're lying down,

You're welcome to go ahead and rest them next to you.

Palms open,

Facing upwards,

Making sure your joints are relaxed,

Making sure that they're not locked.

So you know what?

I want you to keep them too straight,

Such that you are blocking the flow of prana.

We want to make sure that there's a nice open conduit where you'll have this gentle flow of the energy that you're going to bring in to you,

Through you,

To percolate into every cell of the body.

Allowing the air to go in through the nostrils,

Filling the bottom of your abdomen,

Using your diaphragm to do so.

And then as you exhale,

Squeezing your abdomen,

I want you to breathe out through your mouth.

In through the nostrils for a count of five.

And out through the mouth for a count of five.

In for five.

And out for five from the mouth.

See if you can exaggerate the squeezing and the expanding of the abdomen,

Making sure that you're not opening and closing just the chest.

I want this to be diaphragmic breathing.

Breathing every last ounce of air,

Using your abdomen muscles.

This is called diaphragmic breathing.

Very good for you to be able to maximize the intake of air and letting go of what the body does not need.

Making sure that your belly is expanding and contracting horizontally.

This has a way of relieving any pain that you have accumulated because of bad posture,

Shallow breathing.

Your body is deeply connected to the breath,

To the rib cage,

To the spinal cord.

And your posture is determined by how you breathe.

And if you learn to breathe nice and deep like this,

Where there is the horizontal expansion of the rib cage versus it going up and down,

Vertical is not good because that actually creates cortisol,

The stress response in the body.

Nice and even,

Samavritti pranayama.

So this is where the inhale and the exhale are completely even.

Inhaling through the nostrils,

Exhaling from the mouth.

Now let's speed up the inhale-exhale.

Let's do for a count of three and out for three.

In for three and out for three.

In for three and out for three.

In for three and out for three.

In for three and out for three.

Let that keep going.

In through the nostrils and out through the mouth.

Now after this next inhale,

Take a nice and deep into the belly.

I want you to hold.

Hold till I tell you.

Believe me,

You can hold longer than you think.

Even though you may resist,

You might want to fight this urge to exhale.

I want you to hold.

There's a lot of benefit in this thing called bandha.

Bandha is when you're actually locking the air.

Five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One,

Inhale.

Nice and deep and then I want you to hold.

This is going to be a shorter hold,

But we're going to hold.

Three,

Two,

One,

Exhale.

Let's take a full cycle of breath air in.

Exhale out.

At the bottom of the lungs,

When the air is exhaled,

I want you to hold.

Hold till I tell you.

If you simply cannot hold that long,

It's okay to go ahead and inhale,

But I want you to hold because this has tremendous benefits which I'll talk about later.

Five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One,

And inhale.

At the top of the lungs,

I want you to hold,

It's going to be shorter hold,

But hold nevertheless.

Three,

Two,

One,

Exhale.

I want you to go ahead and inhale for a count of five.

Nice and deep into the belly.

Exhale,

Squeezing every ounce of this air out of your lungs.

At the bottom of the lungs,

Empty lungs,

I want you to hold.

Again,

One nice last long hold.

Believe me,

You can do it.

The body will try to fight,

The mind will try to tell you that you cannot,

But you can.

We've all done it.

We've done it twice,

We can do it one more time.

Hold.

Five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One,

And inhale.

At the top of the lungs,

I want you to hold this last time,

You can do this.

Three,

Two,

One,

Exhale,

Let go.

Now let's come back to the rhythm of five in and five out through the mouth.

Inhale through the nostrils and exhale from the mouth.

Exhale and exhale from the mouth.

Let's go back to our natural rhythm,

The cadence of five in through the nostrils and five out through the mouth.

In for five using your diaphragm,

So make sure that your belly is expanding.

And out for five through the mouth.

And allowing this to become your natural rhythm,

When you breathe like this for five in and five out,

10 second cycle,

Six times a minute,

It is optimal breathing.

You're allowing your lungs to ingest the air and exhale,

Let go and exchange the carbon dioxide and the toxins that the body does not need,

Which comes out as a warm breath.

As you drop into this natural rhythm,

Notice how you feel.

Notice the lightness you may be feeling,

The tingling sensations in your body,

A complete state of awakeness being centered.

There's nowhere else to go.

Nothing else to be doing.

No one to impress.

Just being.

This longing to be.

Our desire to belong is really this longing to be.

And this is what we have done.

We've gotten to that state of comfort by using the wisdom of pranayama.

And I want to gently shift to the matters of the heart,

Where I'm going to set some intentions for you to create a joyful week ahead.

Preparing you for success and contentment in all areas of your life.

Through these affirmations of joy,

You will notice that as you experience them,

Not just repeat them mentally,

But actually feel them,

You will begin to reflect this out.

Feel as if there's pulsations emerging from you out into the world.

Expanding opportunities.

Touching more lives with your vibrations.

And it all has a multiplying effect as it bounces back.

So let us become what we want to see more often in our life.

Joy is a fundamental way of being.

And it's truly the source of all good that we be,

Say and do.

So as I speak these affirmations,

I want you to fall into the experience of them in the space that is in between each of the affirmations.

I have the power to shape my ideal reality.

Number two,

I create the life I desire with my good feelings.

Three,

Everything is always working out well for me.

Four,

When I feel happy,

I manifest more reasons to be happy.

Five,

I'm willing to be happy now.

Six,

I accept that happiness is my true nature.

Seven,

I am worthy of feeling happy.

Eight,

My happiness comes from within me.

Nine,

I create my happiness by accepting every part of myself with unconditional love.

Ten,

Joy is the essence of my being.

Eleven,

I see so many positives in my life.

Twelve,

I'm constantly creating everything my heart desires.

Thirteen,

I experience joy in everything that I do.

Fourteen,

I feel happy with myself as a person.

Fifteen,

I give myself permission to enjoy myself.

Sixteen,

I allow myself to feel good.

Seventeen,

The life I've always dreamed of is created by my choice to be joyful now.

Eighteen,

Following my joy reveals the path to my best life.

Nineteen,

My choice to be happy keeps me in great health.

Twenty,

The happiness I feel is felt by everyone around me.

Twenty-one,

I create the possibility of happiness for others by being happy.

Twenty-two,

I am meant to live a happy life.

Twenty-three,

My joy expands when I share with others.

Twenty-four,

All the good in my life comes as a result of my willingness to find happiness in each moment.

Twenty-five,

My happinesses reflect back to me in everything I attract.

Twenty-six,

My inner joy is the source of all the good in my life.

Twenty-seven,

I am joy.

I want you to please bring your palms together in prayer position at your heart center.

And let's rub our palms against each other,

Kindling chi or prana.

The palms are a great energy vortex in your body.

And as you embrace these,

As you kindle this energy by rubbing them against each other,

You're invoking a bundle of positive healing energy.

And when you feel a nice warm ball of energy between your palms,

I want you to go ahead and cup both your eyes,

Both your eye sockets,

One with each palm.

Bless yourself.

I love this prana to percolate through you,

From the top of the head all the way down through the core of the body,

Down to your feet.

May equanimity reign in my mind,

May love reign in my heart,

May health reign in my entire body.

And now I want you to please place your palms facing outwards with your eyes still closed as if you're sending a blessing out into the world.

And I want you to see our beautiful globe,

This ball rotating ever so gently in front of you.

On it is every story that was ever told,

Every human that has ever breathed,

All aspects of history that was ever made.

And let's send a blessing out onto this planet that has served us immensely and conditionally since the beginning of time.

In this thriving ecosystem of all the species,

Let's send a blessing that there may be joy,

Harmony and love.

Visualize the Supreme Star,

The Supreme Being above you,

The Supreme Son of Light.

And I am a conduit to channel that light from the Divine into the world.

As my mind becomes still,

I get out of my own way to channel the joy that is omnipresent,

That is natural.

And that radiates out and encompasses the entire globe.

I want you to put your palms back together in prayer position.

Let's take a moment of gratitude for what we have just received.

And notice for yourself,

How do you feel right now?

And if you could summarize how you feel right now in one word,

What would that be?

I want you to please go ahead and share that one word in the comments.
