This simple breath practice may help ease stress and allow the heart to naturally open. This is part of a guided meditation series led by Jan Chozen Bays MD, a longtime Zen teacher and pediatrician. Breathing in peace,

Breathing out love.

This is a very simple practice,

Easy to summon up in any situation.

You can say the words silently or very softly,

Depending upon where you are.

You could just use the word peace on both the in and out breath.

You can change the words to suit the situation.

Try turning up the corners of your mouth in a very slight smile.

I'll demonstrate.

Breathing in peace,

Breathing out love.

Peace.

Love.

Peace.

Love.

Peace.

Love.

You can imagine the peace diffusing through your entire body,

Heart,

And mind.

You can imagine the love diffusing out into the world and touching anyone who needs it.
