Welcome.
Let's meditate.
Find a comfortable seat.
You've heard that a million times,
But instinctually your body is going to know what to do because it's a lot smarter than us.
So this seat might be the most ideal situation.
On a meditation cushion,
It might be on your couch,
In your car,
Leaning against a wall.
Really who cares?
As long as you sit and you arrive and you show up and you close your eyes and you breathe and you tune everything else out,
The seat doesn't really matter.
What matters is your acknowledgement and your awareness and the feeling of your body,
Of you owning your body as it takes the shape,
A shape of comfort,
Which might mean breaking some of the seated meditation rules.
Above all,
Above everything else,
Come to the breath and be open to sitting with whatever happens to arise.
Sometimes when I find myself meditating,
It feels gentle,
It feels like a peaceful experience.
And then some unexpected visitors stop by and I find myself sweating,
Palms clammy,
Heat,
Heat in my body because things get stirred up.
Like when you walk out into the ocean and your feet start to interrupt the sand and the water gets a little foggy.
But we are in this together.
So take a deep breath in and open the mouth.
Again,
Inhale.
Open the mouth,
Let it go.
And one more time.
Just take a moment to sit in silence and see where you are at.
To hold on to theutra,
At the hour of 2010 it's been called.
It's taken place 24 hours to sit for 6 months.
And we've heard those stories before about how everything can change in a split second.
How one second one decision can change and alter the entire trajectory of your life.
And that is the power of meditation.
That is the power of sitting here taking the time making the concerted effort to do one of the most important things that you could possibly do wishes to be with yourself in silence uninterrupted.
It's a healthy habit.
It's a beautiful thing.
And this is the space where we do the most learning.
This is when true change can be affected.
Some of my most creative ideas and some of my most healing recognitions,
Those light bulb moments.
Some of the most important and healthiest work that I've done on myself has been in this space.
Just sitting and just being and being okay with the honest and truthful and raw acknowledgement of the ugly within you and the beauty within you and everything in between.
What makes us who we are?
What makes us who we are?
Take about another minute here.
Five minutes.
And bring your hands together in front of your heart space.
Let's take one final blissful moment of your meditation practice.
Grateful for this body.
Grateful for this time.
Namaste.
