Hello and welcome to Meditation Time.
My name is James Whitaker.
The Bible has hundreds of verses relating to peace so it must be important.
Today we are going to dive into a few verses that talk about the peace that God has offered us.
Then we will spend some time meditating on his word.
In 2 Timothy 1.
7 it says,
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity,
Or cowardice,
Or fear,
But he has given us a spirit of power,
And of love,
And of sound judgment,
And personal discipline.
Abilities that result in a calm,
Well-balanced mind,
And self-control.
He gave us the strength to show love,
To show hope,
And to show peace.
Here are just a few verses about peace that can be found in God's Word.
I'm using the Amplified Version.
In John 14 27 it says,
Peace I leave with you,
My perfect peace I give to you.
Not as the world gives do I give to you.
Do not let your heart be troubled,
Nor let it be afraid.
Let my perfect peace calm you in every circumstance,
And give you courage,
Strength for every challenge.
In Psalm 29 11 it says,
The Lord will give unyielding and impenetrable strength to his people.
The Lord will bless his people with peace.
In Romans 5 1 it says,
Therefore since we have been justified,
That is acquitted of sin,
Declared blameless before God by faith,
Let us grasp the fact that we have peace with God,
And the joy of reconciliation with him,
Through our Lord Jesus Christ the Messiah the anointed.
In Philippians 4 6 to 7 it says,
Do not be anxious or worried about anything,
But in everything,
Every circumstance and situation,
By prayer and petition,
With thanksgiving,
Continue to make your specific requests known to God.
And the peace of God,
That peace which reassures the heart,
That peace which transcends all understanding,
That peace which stands guard over our hearts and your minds in Jesus Christ,
Is yours.
That means we already have peace through Jesus Christ who strengthens us.
All we have to do is ask.
Let's pray.
Dear God,
Thank you for always being with us.
Thank you for the strength you have given us through your son.
We pray that you will bless us with the peace that surpasses all understanding.
We know in your word that you have already offered us it.
We accept your peace now.
May we move forward with you.
In Jesus name.
Amen.
We're going to do some breathing now and then spend a few minutes meditating on God's Word and what his peace means to us personally.
In through your nose,
Long and deep.
Out through your mouth,
Long and slow.
In through your nose,
Long and deep.
Out through your mouth,
Long and slow.
Gently close your eyes.
In through your nose,
Long and deep.
Out through your mouth,
Long and slow.
In through your nose,
Long and deep.
Out through your mouth,
Long and slow.
For the next five minutes meditate on God's Word and what we prayed about.
Meditate on his peace.
Look for him and you will find him.
You you you you you you you you you you you you you you you thank you for joining me today and may we all go forward in peace may God bless you
