Good morning and welcome to meditation time.
Recently I reconnected with God and so my morning practice changed with me.
This is an updated version of my original morning.
Today we are going to go through what I try to do every morning.
I try to go into every morning with peace and focus.
First I want to pray.
I try to bring God into every facet of my day from the moment I wake up and prayer is the best way to do that.
Let's pray.
Dear God,
Thank you for another beautiful day.
Thank you that we have the opportunity to be alive.
Please help us to remain focused on you in the present moment fully.
May we find motivation to live our day to the fullest and peace and presence as we do.
As we move through our day help us to find ways to better the world around us and be a positive example.
In Jesus name,
Amen.
Next I always try to read a verse of scripture.
Today we will be reading Psalm 19-1 in the amplified version.
It says,
The heavens are telling of the glory of God and the expanse of heaven is declaring the works of his hands.
Scripture serves to inspire your day and give you the peace to live it.
Now let's take a moment to think of one person or thing we are grateful for.
Gratitude helps you to feel more positive emotions,
Enjoy experiences more,
Improve health,
Deal with difficulties in life and build stronger relationships with those around you.
Take a moment now.
Next,
I encourage you to continue to get in the moment.
It's something you need to remind yourself of today.
Peace comes when planted firmly in the presence while looking to God.
You can't change the past,
It's already happened so there's no need to worry over it right now.
You can't predict the future,
It's yet to come.
God is here through it all.
So focus on the now.
With the now in mind,
Make an intention for the present.
What will you strive for every moment?
Peace,
Strength,
Love,
Set your intention now.
Now we're going to be using a mantra if you're comfortable.
Mantras are great and help you to remind yourself of what is important.
They can be used in meditation or simply in your head throughout the day.
I'm going to use the mantra here and now.
It helps to keep you in the present.
You can repeat it in your head in whatever tempo or pattern you find calming.
We're going to do some deep breathing to transition into a time of meditation.
As the music and ambience continues to play,
I encourage you to focus on God and being in the present moment.
Use the mantra throughout and if you become distracted,
Return to the breathing exercise.
In through your nose,
Long and deep.
Out through your mouth,
Long and slow.
In through your nose,
Long and deep.
Out through your mouth,
Long and slow.
Gently close your eyes.
In through your nose,
Long and deep.
Out through your mouth,
Long and slow.
In through your nose,
Long and deep.
Out through your mouth,
Long and slow.
