Hello and welcome to Meditation Time.
My name is James Whitaker.
Today we will spend some time meditating on anxiety and what God has to say about it.
Anxiety is one of the most difficult emotions to navigate and I hope some of these verses and strategies are helpful.
In Matthew 634 it says,
Refuse to worry about tomorrow but deal with each challenge that comes your way.
One day at a time.
Tomorrow will take care of itself.
We need to focus on being in the present moment with God.
Deal with things one at a time as they come up.
When you struggle with anxiety it can feel like your whole world is falling apart but the Bible says in 1st Peter 5 7,
Cast all your cares,
All your anxieties,
All your worries and all your concerns once and for all on Him for He cares about you with deepest affection and watches over you very carefully.
So cast all your cares on the one who cares.
He is always there for you.
Have faith in His promises.
In John 14 27 it says,
Peace I leave with you,
My perfect peace.
I give to you not as the world gives do I give to you.
Do not let your heart be troubled nor let it be afraid.
Let my perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.
God promises to leave us perfect peace and give us the strength to make it through difficult situations.
I'm not saying it's an easy path but we need to focus on God and His promises when we are suffering from anxiety.
In Proverbs 3 5 to 6 it says,
Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him and He will make your path straight and smooth,
Removing obstacles that block your way.
Anxiety can be a huge obstacle but faith and trust in God are the key to reduce stress.
It is near impossible to live in both faith and fear at the same time and anxiety is a form of fear.
Trust in Him for your future,
Trust in Him for all your needs.
Let's pray.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Please be with us as we learn what your word has to say about anxiety.
May we be in the present moment with you and not worry about tomorrow.
Thank you for today and thank you for tomorrow.
Calm our hearts,
Calm our minds and calm our breath.
In Jesus name,
Amen.
Let's do some breathing as we transition into a time of prayer and meditation to slow things down.
In through your nose,
Long and deep,
Out through your mouth,
Long and slow.
In through your nose,
Long and deep,
Out through your mouth,
Long and slow.
Gently close your eyes.
In through your nose,
Long and deep,
Out through your mouth,
Long and slow.
In through your nose,
Long and deep,
Out through your mouth,
Long and slow.
Let your breathing return to its normal rhythm.
As music plays,
Put your thoughts completely on God.
Focus on being in the present moment with Him.
Search for God and you will find Him.
You you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you Thank you for joining me today.
I hope that each and every one of you has an amazing day in the present moment with God.
God bless.
