Welcome!
The great black elm,
Oak,
And maple tree branches arch over the street outside,
Reaching their scraggly arms,
Thinner and thinner,
Dark against the lightning sky.
A wind of cathedral is created,
Two-toned,
Completely open,
Welcoming.
The trees stand in front of the sky in magnificent stillness.
No wind harvests their sounds in the morning quiet.
Make the offered silent time for your own.
Be like a tall tree connected with the earth below and reaching into the sky above.
Feel your feet on the floor,
Which is connected to the earth below you,
And feel the earth's solidity and energy move up through your legs,
Into your middle it comes,
To your chest.
The charge moves out your arms and up your neck to your head,
Energizing.
The pulse of life finds feelings.
Some are familiar.
Oh,
This again.
Some are brand new.
What is this?
Old or new,
These are your feelings.
They poke their heads up like prairie dogs to sniff at the light of a new day.
And underneath your feelings and related are your spirits,
Sometimes shy,
Sometimes raucous.
They too emerge,
And they too connect the depths with the heights.
May you enter today with an appreciation for your range,
The distance you can cover.
Your gift today is contrast.
