Welcome to this practice to help cultivate an inner resource.
Let's start by finding a comfortable position.
Where your body feels supported.
Allowing the eyes to close if that feels comfortable.
Or you can soften your gaze.
There's nothing that you need to change.
Fix or achieve in this moment.
Simply notice yourself arriving.
Becoming aware of the points of contact between your body and the surface beneath you.
Notice the support that's already here.
You don't need to create support.
You can simply start by noticing it.
If there are any parts of you that feel uncertain,
Distracted,
Restless or resistant,
See if they can be welcome here too.
There's no perfect way to do this practice.
Only your experience in this moment.
And begin now to notice the natural rhythm of your breath.
Not changing it.
Not controlling it.
Simply noticing.
The inhale arriving.
The exhale releasing.
Perhaps noticing where you feel the breath most easily.
Is it in your chest?
Your belly.
The nostrils.
Or somewhere else entirely.
Letting the breath become an anchor.
For your attention.
Something simple and steady that you can return to at any moment.
And as you continue resting here,
I'd love to invite you to explore the idea of an inner resource.
In Yoga Nidra,
An inner resource is certainly not the absence of challenge or difficulty.
It's not a place where life magically becomes perfect.
Instead,
It's something within you that evokes a sense of support.
Place of refuge.
A feeling of steadiness.
A reminder that you are more than any single moment,
Emotion,
Or experience.
Your inner resource might appear in many forms.
Perhaps it's a place.
Like a favorite trail.
Dark by the lake.
A forest.
A beach,
A room.
A garden,
Perhaps it's a person.
A loved one,
A mentor,
A pet.
Maybe it's a memory,
A moment when you felt grounded.
Connected,
Supported.
Or maybe it's a feeling.
Warmth strength,
Peace,
Belonging.
Trust.
There's no right answer.
Just noticing what arises naturally for you.
And if nothing arises,
That's okay too.
You might instead imagine what support would feel like if it were available right now.
Letting your inner resource emerge as a felt sense from within your body.
Not a mental construct.
But tuning in to the body.
As you explore sensations of well-being.
Exploring what it means to feel ease,
Wellness.
And as you connect with this felt sense of a resource,
Can you notice what happens in your body?
Maybe there's a softening somewhere.
A little more space,
A little more ease,
And even a little more breath.
Or perhaps something more subtle.
Trust whatever you notice.
There's no need to make anything happen.
Allowing yourself to become curious about the felt sense of this resource.
If it had a texture,
What might it be?
It at a temperature.
If it had a color.
A shape.
Maybe it's very visual and looks like a landscape,
Just allowing yourself to experience it rather than thinking about it.
And as you rest with this resource.
Can you notice that all of our experiences still exist?
So thoughts may still arise,
Emotions might still move through.
Sensations might still be present.
The invitation is not to make those disappear.
But to notice that support can exist alongside them.
That steadiness can exist alongside uncertainty.
That refuge can exist alongside challenge.
That both can be present.
Taking a few minutes now to simply rest.
Nothing to do.
Nothing to change.
Just resting in whatever sense of support is available to you right now.
And as we start to move this exploration towards completion for now.
Notice what you're taking with you.
Not as an idea.
Not as a concept.
But as a felt experience.
A reminder that support may be closer than we sometimes realize.
And that this resource.
Can be revisited again and again.
Before a journey.
During a difficult moment.
In daily life.
Or whenever you need it.
Begin now to notice the space that you're in.
Noticing the surface beneath you.
The sounds nearby.
Maybe gently deepening your breath.
Inviting some small movements into your fingers and toes.
Allowing the body to move in whatever way feels most natural right now.
And when you're ready,
Allowing your eyes to slowly open.
Thank you so much for practicing with me today.
I hope you can carry this sense of ease and support with you as you move into the rest of your day and call on it when a little bit of steadiness or ease might be needed.
