Welcome,
Wherever you are,
However your day unfolded,
You've made it here.
Together we'll ease into stillness so your body and mind can prepare for rest.
Starting by finding a position where your body can fully rest,
Maybe that means lying down or reclining back,
And if it feels okay,
Gently closing through the eyes or leaving a soft gaze,
And taking a slow,
Gentle breath in,
And an even longer exhale.
As you breathe,
Imagine gathering all the pieces of your day,
The busy moments,
The conversations,
The tasks,
You gather all these pieces up and lay them gently into a basket.
You don't need to hold them anymore.
With each exhale,
Picture setting that basket down beside you.
You have done enough for today.
Let your breath begin to slow,
Inhale gently,
And exhale fully.
And with every out-breath,
Feel your body sinking deeper into rest.
Let your muscles release,
Soften your jaw,
Soften your shoulders,
Can you even soften through your belly.
And bring awareness now to your heart,
Thanking yourself for moving through yet another day.
No matter how it unfolded,
You showed up.
You did your best with what you had.
If any lingering thoughts or worries come up,
Picture them like clouds drifting across the night sky.
You don't need to chase them.
You can watch them pass,
Knowing that the sky always clears.
Repeat inwardly to yourself,
It is okay to rest right now.
I have done enough.
I am allowed to let go.
It is okay to rest right now.
I have done enough.
I am allowed to let go.
Stay with this for a few breaths,
Letting your body melt into the ground beneath you.
If sleep is near,
Let yourself drift.
If you're closing the day in wakefulness,
Take one more deep,
Nourishing inhale.
Exhale fully and gently return to the room when you're ready.
Thank you for taking this time to practice with me.
The day is complete.
It is safe to let go now.
Drift into rest,
Knowing that you're supported.
May your breath carry you into ease,
Your body into softness,
And your heart into peace.
