Hi,
Welcome.
I'm so glad to be here with you.
There's nothing you need to get right in this practice.
You can just begin wherever you are and maybe as you arrive just taking a moment to invite the body to land a little bit more to settle into this space.
Perhaps noticing and sensing into the support of the surface beneath you.
Whether you're sitting,
Lying down,
Or even moving gently through your space.
Just really allowing yourself to arrive in your own time and your own pace.
And for this practice,
I really want to gently name something that I and so many of us carry.
And that's this quiet,
Sometimes not so quiet,
Sense that there's something we need to be doing right.
That there's a correct way to arrive.
That there's a correct way to breathe.
That there's a correct way to be here,
Alive.
And we don't need to push that away.
We can just notice,
Oh that's here.
This sense that I need to be doing something correctly,
The right way.
The earth is here.
I'm here.
And this something in me that feels like it needs to do something right is here.
And instead of trying to change that,
We might begin to widen our attention a bit.
And we might start by just noticing the body exactly as it is.
Noticing the breath.
Without trying to fix it or change it.
Noticing the places that feel supported,
Held.
We might notice that as a kind of just contact with the surface.
And perhaps the weight of the body being received by gravity,
By the earth.
There's something beneath you.
And the body doesn't need to do this right.
Something is already happening.
Breath is already moving.
Sensation is already here.
So maybe just resting here for a moment and allowing the life that is already moving through you,
For you.
Without you having to effort in any kind of way.
And maybe we can just let that be enough for this moment.
Noticing the breath just as it is.
Not needing to deepen it.
Not trying to slow it down.
Just allowing the breath here,
Inviting the body to simply allow itself to just be held by the breath,
Supported.
Perhaps noticing any tension in the shoulders,
The neck,
The face,
Just gently noticing,
Not fixing,
Just allowing your awareness to arrive,
To land.
And then also noticing that there's a larger body here.
This whole living body.
The back of the body.
Held by the spine and the heavy,
Solid,
Lower body resting on the surface.
Contact with the pelvis,
The legs,
The feet.
Holding this something that needs to get it right,
While also allowing the parts of you that are already being held to be received and supported without effort.
And just for a moment,
Letting your awareness zoom out to include that support,
Support of the earth,
Of gravity,
Perhaps inviting the body to be held by the breath.
And you might notice that something in you can observe all of this,
Not the part that's trying to get it right,
