Let's slow down together and invite this precious human struggle to focus to be here with us in this living moment. Perhaps it can make itself a bit more comfortable in connection with the Earth and the Sky?

I am struggling to focus on the things that I want to focus on today and I thought I would just slow down with this longing and with this struggle in connection with the earth that's here and this whole living body.

So I take some time just saying hello to my feet,

Greeting the earth,

Inviting the earth to receive me and my body more and more.

And I kind of wiggle around a little bit and find my connection with my sit bones and my seat,

Inviting my body to really notice this connection and notice the support that's here.

And I say hello to my physical body that's struggling a bit today,

My energy body that's struggling a bit today,

Supported by the breath.

I tune into the back of my body,

My spine here resting on the tailbone,

Rising up supporting my head.

It takes some time here at the back of my body,

Really feeling for the space behind me in the room,

The space behind me through time.

Remembering that I am not the first nor the last to struggle,

To do and focus on what I want to focus on.

So I say hello to the ancestors that are standing at my back,

To notice the room around me as I invite the body as a whole to spread out and take up space beneath me and above me,

Behind me in front of me.

And I take some time with the left and the right of me,

Inviting my body to remember its peers and allies and loved ones that stand at my side.

Inviting my body to notice itself here held between the earth and the sky,

Zooming out just a bit to remember myself as not just me,

But as one of 8 billion humans.

And zooming out a bit more,

Remembering myself as not just here resting on the earth as an earthling,

But also of the earth.

The earth resting upon the earth.

Held in this moment in the seat.

And gently I welcome a struggle to focus.

And I allow that to just be here,

Inviting it to rest in the space,

Rest in this moment held,

Supported by the earth.

Knowing that there's nothing that I need to do,

But simply be here and witness this wanting,

This struggle.

And I just pause and wait here,

Connecting with the breath,

Feeling into this living body,

Back of the body,

The back of the thighs,

The heavy,

Generous support of gravity holding me here in an embrace against the surface of the earth.

And I just allow any tenderness that might come to also be here in connection with this wanting and this struggle to rest here.

I extend some gratitude to my mind,

Thanking it for all the ways that it tries to keep me safe,

Perhaps extending some care and appreciation for how it struggles.

And I extend some gratitude to the body,

Thinking it for pausing for a moment to simply be with what's here.

I think the body for expressing.

It's longing for expressing its need for expressing its struggle.

I think the earth for holding me here as I just make a little bit of space for this struggle and this wanting to exist as it is.

And I thank you for slowing down with me and joining me in this exploration.
