In this meditation we will be slowing down and simply saying hello to the breath, exactly as it is. The invitation is to welcome the possibility of perhaps just a bit more awareness and kind attention on the breath in this living moment.

Hey,

Welcome,

I'm so glad you're here.

Thank you for coming and practicing with me today.

My invitation as you arrive is to really just make yourself comfortable.

That comfort might mean sitting or lying down or perhaps you just want to continue moving through your day in some way.

And we can just land in this situation in our own time,

Just really easing into this space and maybe slowing down a bit.

And for this meditation,

I'm really wanting to just invite the possibility of noticing my breath just a little bit more.

Noticing how it is in my body now in this moment,

Perhaps saying hello to any signs of tightness or constriction.

How is the breath for you there?

So often in our culture,

As we move into practices,

We're still bringing an old familiar friend of control.

And so I'm just inviting the possibility of control,

Controlling the breath,

Just relaxing for a moment.

And maybe we can just take some time to be here with the breath in this moment,

Exactly how it is.

Is it deep or shallow?

When we notice the breath,

The breath changes.

Something happens as we apply our kind open awareness to the breath that's always here supporting us.

And as we apply attention to the breath,

The nervous system changes.

So we can just be here and rest with the breath,

Just noticing how it is in this moment,

Saying hello to it as it is.

And allowing this to be a practice of not fixing,

Not changing,

Not trying to control or shape or manipulate in any way,

But simply noticing and being present with the breath that's already here,

The support of the breath that's already here.

Thank you for taking a moment to pause with me and just say hello to the breath and notice how it is in this moment.

And perhaps just inviting the possibility of maybe noticing throughout the day,

How is my breath now deepening in connection and relationship with the breath that's already here.

And I pause and maybe just place a hand on my chest and allow my lungs and my breath to receive the warmth and the support of my hand.

Thank you for your practice.

I'll look forward to next time.
