This guided meditation is an opportunity to pause, and to reconnect with our own energy, separate from the energy that exists around you. We will use the breath to settle into the present, finding stillness and peace within the body. It is an opportunity, no matter how you are feeling, to reset and begin again.

Welcome back.

My name is Laura and this is Cultivate Your Wellness.

Today we're going to take a pause.

We're going to let the world turn without us for a few minutes.

We're not going to shut it out.

Just exist within it,

Acknowledging the things around us,

Remembering that they are not part of us.

Though we do share the same space,

We don't need to share the same energy.

We'll allow our energy to settle and attempt to regain comfort within our bodies,

Calm our nervous system down,

And take the much needed time out that we need right now.

Let's begin.

Close your eyes if it feels good,

Or you can just soften your gaze.

Sometimes practicing seeing the world around you is a way to grow closer to the calmness in all situations.

We can't always shut out the world,

And we don't have to.

We can find peace within,

Even when we're out there.

Turn your attention to the breath.

Feel the air as it comes in and flows back out.

Continuing to breathe in and out,

In and out as we perhaps envision it much like the wave on a beach,

Coming and going,

Ever continuous.

On the next breath,

Taking it in slowly and with intention as we bring our attention to the body and letting the breath out,

Inviting in softness.

Each breath,

Bringing it in,

Noticing the muscles of the face,

The jaw,

The shoulders and belly,

And as you breathe out,

Inviting them to soften,

Inviting anything you're holding on to to release and let go of the grip it had.

Breathing in,

Breathing out,

Soft as the waves,

Controlled only by your intention.

Letting it in,

Feeling it fill your body,

Creating space,

And letting it out,

Exploring the softness that comes with the release.

In and out.

And if the mind begins to wander,

Acknowledge the thoughts as just that,

Only thoughts,

Allowing them to pass by just like the clouds in the sky,

Lingering but never staying for too long.

They just keep on passing by as the wave of your breath continues to come in and go out.

In and out again.

Noticing the flow of energy moving throughout your body.

Perhaps the out breath even blows some of those thought clouds away.

With the in breath,

Acknowledging they're there without judgment and letting it out and just sending them on their way,

Sitting within the softness of the present,

Acknowledging whatever comes up,

Being present moment to moment.

And perhaps you begin to acknowledge some of the things around you,

The sounds you're hearing.

If your eyes are open or even if they're closed,

The change in light,

The shadows,

Seeing and hearing that which is around you as just part of this moment,

Not responding to it with any judgment,

Thoughts of good or bad,

Experiencing it as just what is,

Being in the moment,

Turning your attention to the breath.

If you feel yourself begin to grow anxious or fidgety,

Giving yourself permission to make any adjustments you need,

Trusting that you can move within the present while staying present,

Feeling the breath come in and feeling the breath go out,

Inviting in this soft,

Still reset,

Noticing the energy that moves even within the stillness,

Noticing it slow down,

Perhaps becoming so still you barely notice it.

Perhaps you melt into that stillness,

Connecting,

Resetting,

Exploring the space that exists when we give ourselves that moment to breathe.

I'm going to give you another minute or two to explore this on your own.

Feel free at any moment to pause the video and take longer.

I'll call you back when it's time.

Noticing once again the sound of my voice as we turn our attention to the breath,

Taking it in slowly,

Feeling the chest expand as we send the shoulders back,

Lift the chin slightly and send it out,

Inviting in gentle movements,

Preparing our body for the rest of our day.

Taking in again one final intentional breath,

Remembering you can return to it whenever you need a reset,

In and out,

And whenever you're ready,

Opening your eyes.

Thank you as always for taking the time to meditate with me today.

I hope you've enjoyed this meditation.

If you did,

I'd love to hear from you.
