Hello friends,

Welcome to this writing meditation.

Please have a pen and paper with you as we move into a writing practice.

We are going to work with a series of writing prompts and questions that act as a niggle,

A nudge,

Even a nuisance to your consciousness.

All you have to do is write out the writing prompt and see what happens next.

Allow yourself to write easily and freely.

Try not to overthink or stop to read what you've written.

Don't worry about punctuation or grammar or spelling.

Just let the words spill out from you.

Remove all judgement as you write.

Keep your hand moving on the page and when you get stuck,

Just rewrite the writing prompt or mentally repeat the question to yourself again and go off on another tangent,

Even one that is oppositional to the writing you've already done.

See if you can write in different directions,

Answer the questions from many angles,

Enter through a range of doorways.

I will give you a series of writing prompts or questions and you'll have a few minutes to write into each one.

The writing practice will begin and end with a gong.

Writing prompts activate our deep inner awareness.

They are contemplative guides.

Some of the prompts are questions.

Remember that not all questions are asking for answers.

Some questions are placeholders for the soul.

You're not looking to solve a problem or resolve anything.

You're just seeking a thread,

A crack through which to enter an ongoing conversation with yourself.

Today's writing meditations take us into a series of questions that start with who.

We're exploring our relationships with ourselves and with others.

You'll have two minutes to write into each question.

Are you ready?

Let's begin.

Who gets you?

Begin.

Your second prompt is,

Who has never got you?

Begin.

And,

This is the second follow-up.

You you you you you your third prompt is who and what do you love begin you you you you you you you you your fourth writing prompt is who and what inspires you begin you you you you you you you and your final writing prompt for today is who do you need to forgive begin you you you you you you how did you find that writing meditation was it easy was it difficult did anything surprise you as you wrote leave a comment for me to let me know how the writing went for you I hope your words inspired by these prompts and questions hold you close to your heart and bring you even closer to your inner knowing and voice your writing is always there for you the doorway you just need to open when you begin to move your hand across the page

Lovely writing meditation! Thank you Joanne. I found surprises in my answers and insights bubbled up. I love when that happens! By the end I realized I had forgotten to include myself in who I love amd who inspires me. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ But there was plenty of time to include myself (I was first on the forgiveness list. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Gratitude to you! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’œ

Joanne, thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š, this was superb. I was at book club on Wednesday and chose your book Unbecoming, and on the flyleaf read that you do these writing meditations via InsightTimer. Ive been a fan of InsightTimer for some years. I am delighted to have discovered your meditations. The exercise this morning dug deep. I am 75 and one always hopes to be calm and balanced at this age. Nope! Thank you for helping me look deeper and helping me with forgiveness. And the qualities of those people whom i admire, those are the qualities I aspire too. Your voice is clear, beautiful and calming. Blessings.

An interesting and revealing exercise. It strikes me that the people and things I love are also the people and things that inspire me. I will refer to this tool frequently. Thank you!

I didn't think I would know what to do. It's interesting because these were feelings I've been guarding and had fear around. As I wrote I was not surprised by the content but by how worrying my feelings or thoughts allowed some emotions to release. Thank you๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’š

Really good questions. The quick pace worked for me. I can always go back, but I liked having only 2 minutes as a beginning.
