Hello friends,

Welcome to this writing meditation.

Please have a pen and paper with you as we move into a writing practice.

We are going to work with a series of writing prompts and questions that act as a niggle,

A nudge,

Even a nuisance to your consciousness.

All you have to do is write out the writing prompt and see what happens next.

Allow yourself to write easily and freely.

Try not to overthink or stop to read what you've written.

Don't worry about punctuation or grammar or spelling.

Just let the words spill out from you.

Remove all judgement as you write.

Keep your hand moving on the page and when you get stuck,

Just rewrite the writing prompt or mentally repeat the question to yourself again and go off on another tangent,

Even one that is oppositional to the writing you've already done.

See if you can write in different directions,

Answer the questions from many angles,

Enter through a range of doorways.

I will give you a series of writing prompts or questions and you'll have a few minutes to write into each one.

The writing practice will begin and end with a gong.

Writing prompts activate our deep inner awareness.

They are contemplative guides.

Some of the prompts are questions.

Remember that not all questions are asking for answers.

Some questions are placeholders for the soul.

You're not looking to solve a problem or resolve anything.

You're just seeking a thread,

A crack through which to enter an ongoing conversation with yourself.

Sometimes we feel as if we have lost the wind beneath our wings.

We're stuck in the doldrums without any forward motion.

Our life force seems on pause.

And sometimes we just need a little jiggle to jumpstart our vitality,

A little reset.

That's what today's writing prompts are for.

There are six today,

Three pairs.

You'll have a minute to write into each one.

Are you ready?

Your first prompt is,

What do you want to say yes to?

Begin.

Your second prompt is,

What do you need to say no to?

Begin.

Your third prompt is,

What do you want to say no to?

Begin.

Your third prompt is,

What are you hungry for?

Begin.

Your fourth prompt is,

What do you want to say no to?

Begin.

Your fifth prompt is,

What do you want to say no to?

Begin.

Your fourth prompt is,

What have you had enough of?

Begin.

Your fifth prompt is,

What do you want to say no to?

Begin.

Your sixth prompt is,

What do you want to say no to?

Begin.

Your fifth prompt is,

What do you still need to learn?

Begin.

Your sixth prompt is,

What do you still need to learn?

Begin.

Your final writing prompt for today is,

What could you teach?

What could you teach others?

Begin.

Your final writing prompt for today is,

What could you teach?

Begin.

How did that writing exercise go for you?

Were you able to access some spark,

Talk,

Friction to fuel you forward?

Leave a comment for me to let me know how the writing went for you.

I hope your writing inspired by these prompts and questions brings you closer to your inner knowing and voice.

Your writing is always there for you,

A doorway you just need to open when you begin to move your hand across the page.

It's the second time in five years that I've listened to this writing meditation. Fascinating how certain questions trip me up, while others I could wax on for hours! Thank you for all of your wonderful tracks & courses on the insight timer app!

Wonderful to have the one min limit for each prompt. What often stops me from opening my journal in the morning is that I write so much that I end up in bed for far too long. This short session was all I needed! Thank you 🙏💚
