Lezione 1
I Am Strong
Day 1 celebrates your strength and asks you questions about how you might be feeling as you cope with your disability. It’s full of compassion and kindness, empathising with what you’re going through. There’s a meditation where you’ll visualise your own inner light, some positive affirmations to contemplate, then relaxing harp music with an exotic vibe.
Lezione 2
I Am Angry
In Day 2 I talk about the anger and frustration you might feel due to your body not working the way you want it to. I introduce the idea of ‘oblivion’ - a place where you might go to try and escape your disability and all it entails. There are suggestions on how to get out of this mindset, a story about a dedicated dog, and then, a cosmic harp guided meditation into the sea.
Lezione 3
I Am Kind
Day 3 is about what you do for others, what you notice in others and how kind and sensitive you are. It touches upon the healthiness of community connection and being around others. There’s a little breathing exercise to promote a tranquil state (which can be done every day), a calm visualisation full of healing light and some soothing, ethereal harp music to drift away into at the end.
If you want to hold your breath for a shorter time to begin with, here's a suggestion of the breath length you could use when we get to the 4-7-8 breathing exercise:
- Breathe in through the nose for 2 seconds
- Hold the breath for a count of 3.5 seconds
- Exhale through the mouth for 4 seconds
Lezione 4
I Like To Imagine
Day 4 encourages you to use your imagination to promote healing within. It reminds you how powerful thoughts are and how important positive thinking is to change how you feel. There’s a fun story a girl once told me about feeling buzzy, then some lovely, uplifting, magical affirmations. This is followed by a little relaxed breathing, some self-love and delightful harp music in a duet with a blackbird.
Lezione 5
I Am Unique
Day 5 helps you explore what else you are besides disabled. Sometimes having a disability can take over everything and this episode reminds you that you have many facets and gifts. I talk about your individuality, your unique spirit and how comparing yourself to others is a waste of time. There’s a story about Tutankhamun and his mobility aids followed by some breathing, relaxing, meditation, and affirmations about creativity and purpose. An uplifting, dreamy harp journey ends this day.
Lezione 6
I Am Scared
Day 6 calls out the feelings of worry and anxiety you might have about the future and how disability is a life-changing journey. It guides you towards thinking more about your present moment and staying in a place of happiness through laughter and good cheer. There’s a fun story about me meeting some cows in a field, some gentle movement suggestions, a little breathing, and a visualisation where you choose the colour of your wings. This is followed by some uplifting harp music soaring up into the sky. We’re going flying.
Lezione 7
I Live My Best Life
Day 7 helps you relish your day by having some mini adventures and going places you haven’t been before. It wants you to look after your spirit by getting out of your normal routine and finding that spark again. It doesn’t have to be much and I give you lots of fun suggestions. I talk about the power of nature and movement to help you feel better. There’s some meditation where everyone taking the course connects together for a few moments, some affirmations full of love and strength, then gorgeous harp music - emotive and bright - to bathe in.
Thank you for being here! With love, Holly.
