Bring your attention to your breath and simply notice the natural rhythm of your inhale and your exhale.
Allow yourself to arrive fully into this moment,
Letting the outside world fade into the background for a while.

Welcome to my Chakra Healing & Activation series.
In this series we work with each of the 7 main energy centres in the body one by one,
Gently bringing them back into balance and flow.
You can use these activations individually or return to them as a set whenever you feel called to.
A chakra is an energy centre within your body and each one relates to a different part of you.
Your emotions,
Your mind,
Your sense of self,
Your intuition and your connection to life.
When a chakra is open and balanced,
Energy moves through you more freely and you feel clearer,
Calmer and more aligned.
Today we are working with the root chakra.
This chakra sits at the base of your spine and forms the energetic foundation of your entire system.
It's all about stability,
Safety,
Belonging,
Your relationship with security and your sense of being grounded in the physical world.
It influences how supported you feel,
How connected you are to your body and how steady you are when circumstances shift.
From my own experience working with Reiki,
This is often the hardest chakra to balance and it is usually the one I come to last in a session.
Interestingly,
People often tell me afterwards that they felt deeply connected to the ground in the hours that follow a session.
More settled,
More rooted,
More present.
The experience of grounding is something I really value and I'm a huge fan of grounding in the most literal sense.
Literally standing barefoot on grass,
Soil or sand.
Just allowing your body to reconnect with the earth physically as well as energetically.
This simple act can calm the nervous system,
Reduce mental overwhelm and just bring your awareness back into the body.
And this mirrors exactly what this chakra supports.
Stability,
Presence and connection to the physical world.
This centre is closely connected to survival instincts and basic needs.
Shelter,
Nourishment,
Financial stability and physical well-being.
When this centre is balanced,
You feel rooted and stable.
When it is unbalanced,
You can feel anxious,
Unsettled,
Scattered.
You may feel disconnected from your body,
Restless or overly focused on control.
The colour of the root chakra is deep red.
A grounding,
Strengthening and vital red.
So I'm going to ask you to imagine a warm red glow forming at the base of your spine.
It's solid and steady,
It feels like an anchor of energy.
With every inhale,
Imagine this red light growing stronger and spreading downward through your hips and legs.
As you breathe,
Your root chakra begins to glow.
Really connect with that glow.
A deep red energy expanding through your lower body.
You might notice some warmth,
Maybe some heaviness,
A sense of presence.
Whatever you feel right now is enough.
Let that red light move down through your thighs,
Your knees,
Your calves and into your feet.
Imagine it extending beyond you into the ground beneath you.
Like roots reaching downward,
Connecting and anchoring you.
With every breath,
Allow this grounding energy to deepen.
And just really sense yourself supported by the earth beneath you.
You are being held and you feel stable and secure.
I'm going to ask you to visualise red light forming a strong foundation beneath your whole body.
Making you feel really protected.
Just let this grounding energy move through your entire system.
Restoring presence,
Steadiness and belonging.
Just rest your awareness at the base of your spine,
Bathed in red light.
And imagine a soft circle of energy spinning there.
Slowly at first and then more steady,
Balanced and grounded.
Silently repeat in your mind,
I am safe.
I am supported.
I am grounded.
Just let these words settle into the red glow.
Just stay here for a few quiet breaths.
And if it feels right,
Gently press your feet into the floor.
And place your hands on your thighs.
And notice the physical connection.
Just rest in this grounded awareness.
You have gently activated and balanced your root chakra.
And just take a moment to notice how you feel.
Any sensations,
Any subtle shifts.
And I want you to thank yourself for giving yourself this time.
For grounding into your body and reconnecting with your foundation today.
And gently bring your attention back to your breath.
To the space around you.
You can bring some movement into your body if that feels right.
Some gentle stretching,
Wiggling your fingers and toes.
And you can slowly open your eyes.
