Nature is not a place to visit.
It is home.
Gary Snyder As you settle into this moment,
Feel the rhythm of your breath slowing down.
With each inhale,
Feel yourself becoming more grounded and with each exhale,
Allow any tension to melt away and let the soft chimes guide you gently into stillness.
There is a tree,
A strong,
Beautifully imperfect tree.
This tree stands tall with roots that reach deep into the earth.
Picture the roots stretching wide and far beneath the surface,
Connecting the tree to the core of the earth.
Feel that same connection within yourself.
Your body rooted,
Supported and steady.
As you breathe in,
Draw energy from the earth through your own roots.
Feel this nourishing energy rise up,
Filling you with stability.
As you exhale,
Imagine sinking deeper into the ground,
Anchored like the tree.
Now focus on the trunk of the tree.
It's strong,
Weathered and uniquely shaped by time and the elements.
The tree doesn't judge its imperfections.
It simply stands tall,
Accepting them as part of its journey.
Like this tree,
You are beautifully imperfect,
Shaped by your experiences.
Feel the strength in that acceptance.
Connect your awareness to the branches.
Some reach high toward the sky,
Open to the sunlight,
While others bend or break in harsh weather.
The tree doesn't cling to them when the wind blows or the leaves fall.
The tree lets go without sadness,
Knowing it is a natural part of life.
Can you feel that same sense of equanimity within yourself?
Imagine releasing your own attachments,
Letting go of what no longer serves you,
Just as the tree lets go of its leaves in the fall.
Even when its branches fall,
The tree continues to grow,
Resilient and open to each new season.
Now,
This time,
See yourself as this tree.
Your roots anchor you.
Your branches reach toward the sky,
And you remain peaceful,
Balanced,
And strong.
The soft chimes are like the wind gently moving through your branches,
Reminding you of your deep connection to both the earth and the sky.
You are this tree,
Rooted,
Resilient,
And beautifully imperfect.
Now slowly bring your awareness back to your breath.
Feel the gentle rise and fall of your chest,
And the calmness that you cultivated within you.
Open your eyes when you're ready,
And carry with you the grounded strength and peaceful acceptance of the tree,
From my heart to yours,
With all my love and gratitude.
Namaste.
