Let's talk about how to deal with overthinking mind.
We have a mind and we have it to use it in the correct way.
Our mind is here to actually support us being alive.
You cannot do anything without your mind.
You cannot make a cup of tea or go to the toilet if you don't know where is the tea and where is the toilet.
Even if you don't know that the urge to go to the toilet is in you.
For all that we're using the mind.
But we don't need to use the mind in order to think that I'm not good enough,
That I'm not worthy,
That somebody is better than me and all those thoughts.
For that not,
But it's very natural to do that.
So we have to learn how to stop that tendency.
So number one is to realize that your mind is not your enemy.
Actually it could be your puppy.
It can be a great helper if you know how to use it.
You can change it from being a very strong master that all the time ask you to do things and all the time judges you and give you a hard time,
To be a beautiful helper that does exactly what you want,
When you want.
And if it moves out of shape you bring it back,
But you are the boss.
For that you have to understand that your mind is here to serve you and it will serve you in the best way if it is present.
If it's not resisting the present moment.
The mind all the time try to make us feel better.
It tried to make sure that our body feels comfortable,
That all our needs are being met,
That we are comfortable,
That we are comfortable in life,
That we are loved,
That we are cared for,
That we are well nourished.
And anything against it will agitate it and will make it react strong.
And so if I want to eat but actually I forgot to get bread or I forgot to get something and I cannot have the breakfast I want,
I will not feel so great but maybe not big deal.
But if I need to go to work and suddenly something happened and I don't feel well and I cannot go to work,
Then the mind wouldn't like.
But if suddenly I'm going to work and I'm going out and boom,
In the parking place,
No car,
Somebody took it,
Then the mind gets crazy.
So this is all natural and this is a way the mind works in order to protect us.
But we really have to learn how to control it.
So how do we control the mind?
First,
We have to understand its nature.
Second,
We have to understand that I'm not my mind.
So the nature of the mind is to always protect me and give me the best life possible.
But I'm not the mind really,
I'm the one observing and using the mind.
We all have the tendency to identify with the thoughts.
I think this,
I think that.
And with feeling,
I feel this,
I feel that.
And we are very attached to the way we think.
Yeah,
We're very attached to ideas that we have.
In fact,
Those ideas are part of our identity.
I am a vegetarian,
I am a meat-eater,
I am a this or a that.
But we're not a this or a that,
We are the space in which all this manifests.
Once you realize that,
You really realize that,
Then you have a lot of space inside you,
Because you can see that your mind is functioning,
But you are not the mind,
You're not those thoughts.
Yeah,
You are the space.
So if the mind gets crazy,
No big deal.
You just observe its craziness.
If the mind gets jealous,
No big deal.
If the mind gets strange in any way,
No big deal.
It's not you,
It's in you,
But it's not you.
Even when you recognize that your mind has really negative ways of being,
It's still not you.
You're observing it,
You take responsibility for it,
But you don't identify with it.
You identify with the truth of who you are,
Which is infinity,
Which is completely seamless and untouchable pure consciousness.
That's who you are,
Not your mind.
And in fact,
Your mind will serve you to realize exactly that.
