If you want to feel better now,
One of the fastest ways to get there is with gratitude or appreciation.
Because gratitude or the feeling of genuine deep appreciation puts us in a feel-good state almost immediately.
So that's what we're going to do in today's short practice.
So let's begin.
So if you can relax your body by letting go of all thoughts of the future and any of the past,
So you can focus on being here and now.
And inhale and exhale.
I invite you to put your hands over your heart and start to cultivate the feelings of appreciation.
Feel free to say these affirmations with me either silently or aloud.
Number one,
I'm grateful for my breath,
For my ability to breathe,
And for life.
Number two,
I'm grateful for the beauty of nature.
Number three,
I'm grateful for healthy food and clean water.
Number four,
I'm grateful for this quiet moment in appreciation.
And number five,
Every day I notice more around me to appreciate.
Appreciation is contagious.
Once you start by appreciating one thing,
You'll find another and another,
And then another still as your capacity to appreciate grows.
And the feeling of appreciation always feels great.
This is the practice I turn to most often in my own life,
And invite you to come back to the idea of appreciating everything,
Every day or all through the day,
And see what effect this practice has on your life.
