This is a space to let your breath support you,
To let it become more than just a function but a companion,
A quiet presence you can lean into when emotions rise,
When your heart feels heavy,
When life feels too full.
And so starting by finding a comfortable position,
You can sit or lie down,
Whatever feels best to you,
Just somewhere you feel safe and supported,
Letting your hands fall naturally,
Letting your jaw soften,
Letting your shoulders drop,
And as you do,
Taking a gentle breath in through the nose,
And a long steady exhale through the mouth,
And just continuing in this way,
With each out breath,
Letting something go,
With each breath,
Letting your system settle a little more,
And then gently bringing your awareness to what you're feeling,
Noticing what's present,
What your emotional landscape is like,
What's moving through you in this moment.
It might be clear,
It might be messy,
It might feel like a mix of everything or nothing.
Whatever you notice,
You don't need to fix it,
Just stay with it,
Breathe with it,
Experiencing the deep support of your breath,
Like a friend sitting quietly beside you,
Not saying much,
Just there,
As you breathe in,
Letting the breath hold what you feel,
And as you breathe out,
Letting the emotion move,
Even slightly,
Just continuing in this way,
Letting the breath say,
I'm here,
You're not alone in this,
You don't have to hold this by yourself anymore,
And if it feels supportive,
You can place a hand on your abdomen,
Feeling the movement of the breath under your hand,
Feeling how the breath doesn't resist your feelings,
It moves with them,
It stays,
It supports,
And just continuing in this way,
Letting the breath continue to meet anything that's arising,
Presencing it all,
Each inhale meeting what's here,
Each exhale softening with it,
A few more breaths like this,
Letting each breath hold you more and more,
And then slowly letting go of this practice,
But continuing to feel that support,
And taking as much time as you want or need here,
Only when you feel to,
Gently opening your eyes,
And returning to your space,
Still feeling the support of your beautiful breath.
