The breath is the core of our existence. Learning to mindfully breathe can support relaxation and better focus. This track will guide you through a basic breathing exercise. I suggest spending a few minutes with your breath every day. This track contains ambient sounds in the background

Hello beautiful people.

My name is Brittany Gale and I invite you to this breath work exercise.

As you get comfortable in your position,

I invite you to sit up,

Whether that's on your mat or your bed or your chair.

It doesn't matter what your surface.

The important thing is making a connection.

So I want you to really feel what's supporting you right now.

And as we sense our bodies,

We're going to begin to focus on our breath.

We're going to breathe in through our nose,

Hold that air in our bellies as it expands.

And then we're going to breathe out of our mouth and our bellies are going to get really small.

Many of us were never taught how to properly breathe.

Our breath is the core of our life.

Understanding how to get oxygen to our brains and our muscles and how to simply be in alignment with our highest selves is the goal.

So I invite you now to give yourself a few conscious deep breaths by going slowly in through your nose,

Allowing your belly and your abdomen to get big and expand.

And then with some sound,

Allowing that exhale to come out of your mouth nice and slowly as you might bend over just a little bit to help you get the feeling of pushing that air out.

So in through your nose and out through your mouth.

On every exhale,

I invite you to relax your shoulders.

I invite you to move your neck around a bit and to really pay attention to your jaw.

Have your shoulders been hunched up and somewhat stressed and tight?

Has your jaw been clenched or your eyebrows perched together?

If so,

That's very normal.

This is the time that we give ourselves to be very intentional about our breathing,

About our bodies,

And about the things that our minds are saying to us.

Whenever it feels comfortable,

I invite you to bring some movement back to your body.

Move your fingers and your toes.

I invite you to allow your breath to return back to its normal pace.

And open your eyes.

Namaste.
