Hello,

My name is Hilary Lafon and I'm so grateful that you've joined me today to explore the pro tip,

Setting small bite-size goals.

This time of year,

We might be thinking about how to improve our life or our health or any area that needs a little tune-up.

So how do we do that?

For a lot of us,

Goals can be around stress relief,

Weight loss,

Improving our relationships.

So I encourage you to think of these goals in small tiny morsels.

Small bites that you can take that are easily achievable that when you do achieve them,

It motivates you to set another goal.

So for instance,

If your goal is to lose 10 pounds,

Maybe you break that down a little bit into,

Okay,

What are my biggest challenges?

Are they nutritional?

Are they related to food,

Exercise,

Stress management?

So instead of thinking of the overarching goal of losing the 10 pounds,

You can set small actionable steps,

Maybe to start improving sleep,

Going to bed a little earlier,

Not eating out as much,

Walking for 5 minutes and working your way up to 15 minutes,

Starting an exercise class,

Reaching out to a friend to have an accountability buddy.

All of these goals help for the 10 pound weight loss but they're smaller,

Manageable.

So take a moment now and if you're settled,

Close your eyes,

Come into your body,

Take a few deep breaths.

Allow your body to relax and start listening to your heart.

What is your heart telling you?

What is a small bite-size goal that you can start today or tomorrow?

For a lot of us,

It's planning and preparing.

So is there something that you need to do to get ready for your goal?

Reaching out to a friend,

Building your support network,

Making sure you have good shoes to walk in,

Healthy food in your cupboard.

So as you breathe,

Thinking about what's right for you,

Pick one thing that you are ready to commit to.

If areas of your body have tensed up,

Allow them to relax and soften.

Feel yourself settle into the seat.

Allow this exercise to be fun and new.

See it through the eyes of a child and remember that we have the power each day to create the life we want to live.

If we settle and breathe and treat ourselves with kindness and forgiveness and loving compassion,

We can embark on any goal,

Achieve any task and build the life we want.

So let's take these last few moments,

Relaxing our body,

Listening to our heart,

Taking deep long breaths and committing to that one bite-size goal that we can start today or tomorrow.

When you're ready,

Open your eyes,

If you have a pen and a paper nearby,

Write some things down,

Schedule some things in your calendar to help you with this bite-size goal.

And don't forget if you need any resources,

I'm always available,

So reach out to me,

I'm available for coaching.

Thank you so much.

Thank you for allowing me the precious gift of your time.

Until next time.

That was awesome. I was looking for a strategy to help me achieve some life changes. This “bite sized” concept resonated with me.
