Welcome to today's Pro Tip.
Be kind to yourself.
Anytime we set out on behavior change,
It can be a rocky road,
But this tip is a great way for you to stay focused and stay friendly with yourself.
This has three parts to it.
Allow yourself words of self-encouragement.
Also allow yourself to have setbacks.
And then the third is noticing any negative self-talk that might come up during the process.
So wherever this short talk finds you,
Find yourself in a comfortable position.
And let's just take a moment to explore this concept and see how it can resonate with you.
If you're able to or it feels right for you,
Please close your eyes.
If you can't close your eyes,
Then just listen to the words and let them sink in.
Wherever your breath cycle is,
Exhale all your breath out and inhale deeply through the nose,
Taking in the oxygen,
Feeling your body expanding,
Allowing fresh energetic air into the body.
And then as you exhale,
Allow all the air to softly exit,
Taking any toxins with it.
Have a couple more deep breaths on your own,
Feeling a wave of gratitude wash over you with each luxurious breath.
Notice your body softening and relaxing and becoming more receptive to positive suggestions.
Allow your face to be soft,
Noticing if you're grinding your teeth or clenching your jaw.
Allow your belly to be loose,
Your hands and your feet to just relax and open in receptivity.
Being kind to yourself,
What does that mean?
Allowing grace when things don't go exactly as planned.
Thinking about how you treat a loved one or friend in a time of need and see if you can turn that on yourself.
The first of the three parts,
Words of self-encouragement.
Say something kind or nice.
Talk to yourself like a cheerleader or a coach or again as a best friend.
Be kind to yourself and allow for setbacks.
If you're trying to drink more water and you didn't hit your target yesterday,
Focus on the positive and be grateful for the water that you did drink,
Knowing you can start all over again today.
If it was healthy eating you were trying to work on and you ended up overeating or not eating something that you know to be healthy for your body.
Allow for a setback so when you're setting your goals,
Allow for leeway.
Plan ahead,
Be kind to yourself.
And the last most important one is noticing negative self-talk.
We all have brains that discourage us.
It's a survival mechanism that has lasted over time.
But as conscious humans we can see that negative self-talk and then we can offer words of self-encouragement.
Just because we hear the negative self-talk does not mean we have to believe it.
Noticing is half the battle.
So as soon as you notice that you're saying something unkind or unproductive to yourself,
Take a pause,
Notice and then offer yourself words of self-encouragement.
I hear you brain saying I can't do that.
I'm not good enough.
I'll never get where I want to be.
But I'm taking a pause because I know I can do anything I set my mind to.
So I hope this little talk was helpful for you.
Today's pro tip,
