Hi there,

My name is Hilary LaFawn.

Thank you so much for joining me today for weekly affirmations.

This week's topic is morning affirmations.

What we tell ourselves first thing in the morning sets the tone for our day.

I encourage you to repeat these statements in your mind to help you start your day off right.

But first,

Let's breathe.

Relax the body so our mind will follow.

Finding yourself in a comfortable position,

Feet flat on the floor,

Head,

Shoulders,

Spine and hips aligned.

Sitting upright,

Tall,

Not too rigid.

Allow your body to soften as you close your eyes and take a few deep breaths during the start of your day.

Exhaling all the breath out through the nose or the mouth.

Breathing deeply through the nose,

Filling the chest rise,

Stomach expand.

And as you exhale,

Allow your exhale to be slightly longer than the inhale,

Allowing all your muscles to expand,

Relax and soften.

Two more times,

Inhale and exhale.

One more time together,

Inhale and exhale.

Allow your breath to return to its natural rhythm and just notice any sensation or tensions that are in your body.

Starting at the top of the head,

Inhaling a deep breath and allowing all the muscles of the forehead around the eyes,

The nose to just melt and settle.

Notice if you're grinding your teeth or clenching your jaw,

Allow some space between the tongue,

The roof of the mouth and the base.

With your next inhale and exhale,

Allow a wave of relaxation to wash over the back of the head,

The neck,

The shoulders.

And just like a stick of butter on a warm summer day,

Let your body just ooze into peace and quiet.

Notice what you feel in your jaw,

In your throat,

In your shoulders and chest.

With your next inhale and exhale,

Bring some awareness to the chest area and set an intention for the day.

One thing you want to focus on,

Cultivate,

Grow,

Learn,

Develop.

What does your heart say?

What is your heart telling you today?

Connect the message from your heart to your lips and have a small little smile creep up on your face as you inhale and exhale,

Allowing the muscles of the mouth to soften,

Lowering your smile.

And with this next inhale and exhale,

Relax the shoulders,

The spine,

The low back.

Let your breath be a rolling pin that smooths out the creases and any tension.

Allow your arms and your hands to just settle,

Noticing what you feel in your palms,

Any tingling vibration.

Your next inhale and exhale is meant for your stomach.

Relax all the stomach muscles.

Let your belly be heavy and hang.

Notice that when you release the stomach muscles,

Your hips release.

You settle into the seat,

Anchoring down,

Rooting,

Feeling grounded,

Safe and secure.

Allow your lower limbs to be like jelly.

Allow your feet to soften.

And as you breathe and continue to soften and settle and relax,

Repeat these statements in your mind.

I am happy and content with the life that I have created.

I am healthy and strong and will treat my body with love and respect today.

Even if challenges come up today,

I know that I can handle them positively.

I am so grateful for another day to show up as my best self and contribute in a positive way.

I matter and am appreciated by family,

Friends,

Peers,

And co-workers.

I am ready to learn and grow and see things in a new,

I will put nutritious,

Healthy food and liquids in my body today.

I will find one thing to have a jolly belly laugh over today.

I won't take myself and life so seriously as I have a relaxed presence.

I won't take myself and life so seriously as I have a relaxed presence.

If your mind has wandered,

Recommit to the practice today by bringing awareness back to the breath,

Noticing if any areas of the body have tensed up,

And allowing yourself to soften and relax and settle just one percentage more,

Can you get just a little more comfortable.

Make a notice on how you feel now compared to when we started just a few moments ago,

Allowing for the shift.

When you're ready,

Wiggle your fingers,

Wiggle your toes,

Open your eyes.

Don't forget you have the power to create the life you want to live just by the thoughts we tell ourselves.

Thank you for allowing me the precious gift of your time.

Until next time.
