Good morning,
Welcome,
Thank you for joining me for today's morning meditation.
Today's topic is acceptance.
So wherever this meditation finds you,
Allow yourself to become as comfortable as you can.
Maybe you're still in bed,
And if so,
Stretch out,
Get as comfortable as you can.
Take a moment to feel grateful for the sheets and blankets and the pillows around you.
If you're seated,
Have your spine be upright,
Feet flat on the floor,
Palms at your side.
When you're comfortable,
Close your eyes.
Take a moment to allow the muscles around the eyes to soften,
Noticing that when we soften the eye muscles,
Our whole body relaxes.
Maybe visualize your eyes softening from the inside.
Allow the optic nerve to relax,
Sending signals down the spine,
Down all the nerve endings,
All the tissues.
This is a time for you to start your day in peace.
The day will come at some point you must get up and either go to work or tend to the children,
But right now this time is for you.
So as always,
We'll try to focus on the breath,
Relax the mind and the body,
And then listen to the heart so that we may go into the day with purpose and hopefully today a little bit more acceptance of what is happening all around us.
Wherever you are with your breath cycle,
Exhale all your breath out.
Inhale deeply for the count of four,
Two,
Three,
Four,
And exhale completely for the count of five,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Two more times,
Inhale deeply,
Feeling your body filled with oxygen,
And then exhale completely,
Letting something go,
Sighing it out,
Feeling your body soften.
One more time together,
Inhale deeply and exhale completely.
Breathe naturally for yourself,
Noticing any areas of your body that have tensed up or maybe is tight from your long rest.
We started around the eyes and now as you breathe,
Move your awareness to your cheeks and your jaw,
And notice if you're clenching your teeth or grinding,
And just allow some space as you breathe and soften.
Noticing your body around your throat,
The back of the head,
The neck,
Allow these areas to soften and release.
Noticing your hands and feeling sensation and vibration.
Are they cold,
Warm?
Breathe deeply and feel gratitude for your hands,
For how much they do.
Allow your feet to soften,
All your toes and your fingers released,
Getting ready for the day ahead.
Allow your stomach to be heavy and loose.
Feel the weight of gravity hugging you to the earth.
Feel connected,
Strong,
Ready for the day ahead.
As we settle and breathe,
Thinking about acceptance,
There's probably an area in your life,
Whether it's with your family,
Work,
Out in society,
Something that has a grip on you.
See if you can allow yourself the gift of acceptance,
And acceptance does not mean turning a blind eye or not dealing with something.
It just means simply to not push against,
To allow,
Letting anxiety and fear go so that you can accept what is.
If anything has shifted or tensed in your body,
Take a few breaths,
Settle in.
Feel a wave of relaxation and acceptance wash over you.
With acceptance comes clarity.
Once we stop pushing against something,
The path becomes clear of what our next step is or should be or will be.
So allow yourself the gift of acceptance,
Breathing deeply.
There are many things in this world we cannot change,
And letting go and accepting it as is allows for peace of mind and for clarity and for our true purpose to come out without emotions like unmanaged anger,
Unmanaged anxiety,
Unmanaged fear.
Allow yourself to be at peace,
Breathing deeply,
Relaxing completely.
Let's end our time together with three deep breaths,
Exhaling all our breath out,
Inhaling deeply for the count of 5,
2,
3,
4,
5,
And exhaling for 6,
2,
3,
4,
5,
6.
Two more times,
Take in your breath,
The oxygen,
Fill up,
And as you exhale,
Exhale a release,
Allowing space for acceptance.
One more time together,
Inhaling deeply and exhaling completely.
When you're ready,
Wiggle your fingers and your toes,
Open your eyes.
Feel prepared to start the day with maybe a little bit more acceptance so that your heart is open and you may live with purpose.
Thank you so much for allowing me the precious gift of your time.
Until next time.
