Let's begin by closing your eyes and bringing your attention inward.
Now bring your attention to your breath.
I'll use this morning to return to practicing wholeness and a reconnection to wholeness that starts our day.
Wholeness is not something we can achieve and we can't really determine what it will look like or how it might come to us or take us.
But we can only enter a resonance with wholeness by surrendering to the moment that's here.
And a sensitivity to what is being asked of us in any given moment.
Not demanded us,
Expected out of us,
But really what's being asked of us according to our capacities in the here and now.
When we surrender into wholeness,
We let go into the endless creativity of the moment.
So this morning we'll begin with our practice of embodiment.
Our ability to come here fully,
Become at rest and yet ready for activity.
Paradox of life.
Keep fully into yourself,
But you'll go beyond yourself today.
Grounding yourself into something solid while also being on the edge of your vulnerability.
When we experience again a new wholeness,
It comes out of our ability to attune to this moment that's here right now.
We're here enough and we can relax our need to protect ourselves enough.
We can remember and realize the essential purpose of our work is to discover and step beyond,
Remove obstructions or obstacles.
All those things that desensitize us to the wholeness around us and the wholeness within us.
Coming more aware is to discover and remove those things that desensitize us to the wholeness that's around us and within us.
Something that we can feel,
Our ability to feel into the unknown,
Which is radical.
Our ability to feel into the unknown is rooted in an aliveness to the world around us.
This ability to be rooted in ourselves and once again alive to the world around us.
When we're not able to do that,
We'll always struggle with an inability and inadequacy or feeling ill-equipped to really know the world around us.
Just continue to ground yourself fully in yourself to go beyond yourself.
Get in being groundedness and awakening to your own senses.
Whatever vulnerability that creates for you,
Opening your senses,
Coming to your senses.
Being in wholeness,
Depending on your ability to be attuned,
To feel your body hum,
Tingle with sensation,
Flow through your breathing.
How is it now and here in this moment to let your body hum with vibration,
With physical sensation,
With fluid breath,
With the tolerance and acceptance of bodily tension?
Feel how your breath makes space inside you.
Can you feel that?
Can you be patient with your own breath until it drops deeper,
Begins to flow into your places of tension or your back down into your seat?
This fundamental ability of yours right now to stay with your breath and stay with the ground underneath you allows you to accept the world as it is and will make you less numb or reactive to it.
But only if you're here inside yourself like this now and stay here.
What we crave most deeply for,
What we hunger,
Thirst for,
Are these qualities about being deeply human that can never really be possessed by us.
Yet they're always found in the present moment in encounters and exchanges between people,
Between listeners and speakers.
Connection,
Space,
Sense of being accompanied or accompanying.
You'll grow more capable,
As Philip Shepard says,
Of a striking intimacy.
Just both deeply nourishing and non-personal.
