Hi guys,
My name is Heather and I am so glad you're here today and that we get to use our imaginations to pretend that we are cats.
Sometimes in my videos,
You can see cats walking by.
So we have some pet cats in our home,
And I love them so much.
So today,
We get to pretend that that's what we are.
Okay,
So why don't you just sit down.
This one needs to be sitting.
You can also do it if you're standing.
It's pretty easy.
But find a comfortable position and allow yourself just to relax a little bit.
This one is a great little move to use anytime.
See you take a break.
Maybe you're feeling a little frustrated.
Maybe you're just a little bit stressed.
Maybe you just have nerves in your belly.
You feel those butterflies around.
Use you to relax.
It's also a great way if you need a little bit of confidence.
You're going to do something.
You just need to feel a little more brave than what you do right now.
So sit down and let yourself relax.
Yourself be comfortable.
Okay,
So this is how we're going to pretend we're cats.
So cats,
When they play,
They like to pounce,
Right?
We're not going to count.
Not today.
You can do that on your own time.
We're going to use a movement that can mimic that idea of pouncing.
So what we're going to do is we'll bring our shoulders up.
And that's like when the cats like.
.
.
Back and getting ready to lurch forward.
Shoulders are up and then when we pounce we're going to drop.
You can drop them as fast as you want,
But please Be mindful and be careful and safe.
Don't hurt yourself,
Okay?
But do what feels really good for you.
Picture your cat.
Color of cat are you?
You can close your eyes right now,
Or we can practice a couple of times before you close your eyes.
But picture yourself as a cat.
I'm gonna be a black and white cat.
I have a black and white cat.
Okay,
And we see maybe another cat friend or a toy,
Or maybe we're outside and we're chasing butterflies and we want to pounce.
So let your arms be loose.
And as you breathe in,
Bring your shoulders up to your ears.
This is us getting ready.
And as we breathe out,
Drop your shoulders.
Ready?
This is one of my favorites.
I love this one.
Let's do it one more time with our eyes open.
Bring them up,
Up,
Up,
Up.
See if you can touch your ears with your shoulders.
And pounce,
Drop them down.
Smells so good.
Okay,
So if you haven't already,
We can close our eyes now.
Then picture yourself again as the cat,
Fluffy.
Maybe I have short hair,
Maybe I have really long hair.
I have both kinds of cats.
Maybe you have a big towel.
Maybe a little toe.
We're going to get ready to pounce.
So picture the thing.
You're going to pounce on.
I think I'm in the pounce on a big ball of yarn.
I have a cat that loves to play.
With things like that.
So I'm going to pretend that I'm like him.
Care arms are loose And while we breathe in.
Let's bring our shoulders up to our ears and get ready to pounce,
Ready?
Inhale.
All right,
Let's pounce.
Breathe it out and drop them.
Good job.
Let's do it one more time.
Let's breathe in,
Bring your shoulders up.
Squeeze,
Squeeze,
Squeeze,
Squeeze them up.
And breathe out and drop them.
Okay,
You know what?
We're gonna go one more time.
And this time as we exhale,
I want you to sigh it out.
Make a loud noise while you exhale,
Okay?
So let's breathe in.
Bring your shoulders up,
Get ready to pounce.
And as we exhale,
Make some noise.
Huh!
Good job.
Open your eyes.
This is such an easy move to use anywhere.
You don't have to make any noise.
Shrug your shoulders and drop them.
You can also try just rolling them back a few times that also feels really good.
It's a great way just to help shift and move different feelings that you have and just show some care for your body.
You can share this with your family and your friends.
And help them to be able to find a little bit of relief.
It can be a fun thing to do too.
And see who can drop them the fastest.
It feels so good.
It's such a great stretch to use and I hope that you do use it.
I will see you next time when we get to use our imaginations once again.
Bye guys!
