Let's get started.
I invite you to find a comfortable seat.
Maybe lie down on your back.
Or sit in a relaxed position.
Close your eyes.
Let your body relax.
You are in control of this moment.
So allow yourself to find calm.
Take a deep breath through your nose.
Hold for a moment.
And exhale deeply through your mouth.
Let's do a couple more breaths like that.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Hold.
Exhale.
Rewax your jaw.
Part your lips slightly.
Smile.
Relax the muscles in your face.
Continue breathing deeply.
In through your nose and out through your mouth gently.
Feeling relaxed and comfortable.
I invite you to go on a journey with me.
A journey for relaxation.
A journey for peace.
Imagine that you are standing in a wide open meadow.
Surrounded by beautiful flowers and tall grasses.
You can feel the warmth of the sun.
And the inviting breeze.
On your skin.
You look around.
Maybe there is a forest bordering this meadow?
Maybe there are wide open fields.
The breeze was lightly moving the tops of the grass.
The flowers follow this movement.
Watching this type of freedom.
This flowing happiness fills you with joy.
Your smile grows.
You throw your arms out wide.
And begin to sway.
Back and forth.
Back and forth.
Maybe you twirl.
This childlike movement brings great bliss.
You hear birds calling to one another.
Almost as if they are excited to see you.
Their call is gentle and sweet.
As if they are encouraging you to enjoy your time in this safe space.
The sun feels so warm.
You look up to the sky and close your eyes.
It feels so inviting.
Calling out to you to enjoy it longer.
You feel the peace of the meadow.
You decide to sit down in the tall grass.
Maybe there are flowers near you.
What colors do you see?
Notice the shapes and the textures.
Maybe there's a fragrance drifting through the slight breeze?
Sitting still.
You can hear small animals running and playing around the meadow.
Birds flying overhead.
Brightly colored butterflies fluttering close by.
Sitting in the grass is nice.
It brings a new perspective to the meadow.
It opens a new view of the life filling the area.
You decide to lie down in the grass.
Stretch out.
Your arms reaching beyond your head,
Your legs straight out.
Your entire body is feeling the effects of this position.
It allows you to let go of tightness or tension.
To release any stress that has built up from the day.
The sun adds to the comfort you currently feel.
You release your arms and bring one hand to your stomach.
And one hand to your heart space.
You take a deep breath.
And now slowly.
And exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale out of your mouth.
You sit here for a few minutes allowing silence to enter your mind.
You hear the sounds of the meadow all around you.
Your eyes are closed and your heart is swelling in joy.
You take a moment to sit in gratitude.
You feel restful and happy.
You begin to sense the gentle presence of another being in front of you.
Sit up and open your eyes.
To see a lovely little fox.
Her brown eyes studying you.
She is in total comfort and so are you.
You stare in awe at this creature and begin to feel the love she seems to have for you.
She is so calm being in your presence.
You feel the trust she has for you.
You feel safe with her.
It seems that she has brought a message for you.
Something you've been waiting for.
In some way,
You become aware of the message and feel ready to receive it.
Open your heart.
And allow her to share.
Your heart is filled to overflowing with the love you are feeling from her words.
She stands there for a few moments longer.
She gently closes her eyes.
Opens them again for one last look at you.
And turns the other way to pounce across the meadow.
You sit a little longer.
Pondering the message you received.
Feeling what it brought to your heart and to your mind.
You notice the wonderful warmth from the sun once again.
You smile.
There is great calm upon you.
Your legs are out in front of you.
Your feet rock back and forth.
You feel the softness of the grass in your hands.
You take another deep breath.
And find yourself coming back into your conscious awareness of the room around you.
You begin to notice your surroundings.
The sounds,
The smells,
The textures.
You feel the floor under your body or under your feet.
You find small,
Simple movements in your feet and in your hands.
Take another moment to embrace the message you received.
The feelings that you have.
Allow any emotion to show itself.
Continue breathing.
In through your nose.
Gently out through your mouth.
Sigh on an exhale if it feels right to do so.
Feel the gratitude that has been cultivated because of this moment.
This moment you chose.
This moment you are still in control of.
Stay in your comfortable place for as long as is needed or begin to bat your eyes open.
Knowing you can return to this meditation as often as necessary.
