Let's get started.
I invite you to find a comfortable seat.
You can do this meditation lying down if you would like.
Find a place that feels grounded,
Comfortable,
Supportive,
Safe.
I invite you to close your eyes and take a deep breath through your nose.
Hold for a moment and exhale through your mouth.
If you feel the need,
Sigh as you exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale with a sigh.
Relax your jaw.
Relax the muscles in your face.
Relax your hands in your lap or by your side.
Relax your shoulders.
Feel your body melt into the ground or into your seat.
Continue breathing deeply.
In through your nose and out through your mouth gently.
In this grounded space,
I invite you to imagine a sacred space for you.
A place where you feel peace,
You feel comfort.
A place where you can relax completely and let go.
Maybe this place is somewhere in nature?
Like a beautiful lake,
A river,
Maybe the ocean.
Maybe this place is in the mountains,
Deep in a forest or a brightly colored meadow.
Or maybe this place is somewhere indoors.
Place you love to visit.
A sanctuary?
It's a quiet space.
Perhaps it's a noisy space.
Regardless,
This space is your space.
As you picture this place,
Recognize how your body reacts.
Feel the relaxation deep inside.
Keep with your breathing.
Exhale any tension or stress.
Now I invite you to allow a little bit of a challenge.
Think of something that you currently feel burdened by.
What is relentlessly on your mind.
What is something you are trying to navigate or figure out?
As you think of this situation or trial,
Imagine it to be in the form of strong ropes.
Any color any size.
These ropes are wrapped tightly around you.
Imagine the weight these ropes put on your body.
Let's add another.
Consider a second burden or challenge that you are experiencing today.
Give them the same image of ropes.
But these ones are layered on top of the others.
They add more weight and restriction.
And now a third.
A third burden.
A third set of weights.
At this point,
You do not have any movement.
You are bound and weighted.
Your freedom has been taken from you.
Please only imagine to the depth that you are able.
If this is triggering at all.
Open your eyes and narrow your gaze.
Focus on your breathing.
Remember,
This is safe space.
This is healing space.
Remember the serene and sacred place that you put yourself in.
Imagine it once again.
The beauty,
The peace,
The calm.
The feeling of relaxation that this space brings.
Those ropes are still there.
But you also feel strength growing.
You feel a sense of control.
A sense of movement.
Let's get these bonds off.
Think of one of these ropes and the associated challenge.
Let's take a deep breath.
As you exhale,
Imagine the stress or tension of the situation leave your body.
It's not clear how this situation is being taken care of.
Not right now.
But you feel the pressure leave.
Another deep breath,
And exhale.
As the ropes loosen and let go with each exhale,
Imagine the freedom you are beginning to fill.
Tighten your fingers and your hands.
Bring them into a fish sheet.
Tense them so tight.
Now let them go.
Good job.
One challenge taken care of.
Some bit of freedom restored.
Now the next set of ropes.
Picture the situation or the trial that these ropes have put onto you.
Same as before.
Take a deep breath.
Exhale the stress and tension.
And again,
The situation has come to an end.
You have a clear path through.
Take another deep breath and exhale.
These ropes also begin to loosen.
You are feeling more relaxed.
Now tense your feet.
Dig your heels and your toes deep into the ground.
Point and flex your feet.
Now let them rest in whatever way makes sense for your position.
Another challenge taken care of.
Imagine the remaining set of ropes.
Think of the trial and challenge that you assign to these ropes.
It's time to continue with your control and to get them behind you.
Breathe in.
Let go of the stress and pressure,
The tension as you exhale.
Imagine this final set of ropes falling off.
Leaving you with freedom.
You trust that you know the way and have the tools to handle this situation.
There is no longer any pressure about you,
Around you,
Or upon you.
You take another deep breath.
As you exhale,
You feel the great relief that is flooding through your body.
Shrug your shoulders high up to your ears.
Hold them there so tight.
And now relax.
Feel the weight drift away.
Your final challenge is taken care of.
You feel the greatest sense of freedom.
Picture your safe space once again.
This place has brought you relief.
This place has become a little more important today.
Anytime you feel those burdens building around you,
Take a break.
Close your eyes.
Imagine your safe place.
Imagine that burden as a rope.
Breathe your way out of its bonds and tension.
Stay as long as you need in your comfortable position.
If a motion came up,
Acknowledge it.
And offer compassion for your heart and soul.
Your mind,
And your soul.
If you have other trials and challenges that you would like to work through,
I invite you to restart this meditation.
If you're ready to move on with your day.
Take a deep breath in and out.
And flutter your eyes open.
Tick tock your head from side to side.
Smile.
Everything is good.
This day is good.
This space is good.
