Hello and welcome to today's meditation.
My name is Heather and I am so grateful that I get to spend this time with you.
So I invite you to find a comfortable seat.
Remember that what is comfortable today maybe is not the same as what was comfortable yesterday.
Find a spot where your body feels good,
Where you can feel relaxed,
Where you feel grounded.
For our session today,
I invite you to set an intention around the word becoming.
What do I mean by the word becoming?
When we dig into the Word,
We learn that it is a process of coming to be something or passing into a state.
We begin to be.
So what do we hope to be?
What do you hope to be?
Becoming means growth.
It means improved resilience,
Strength.
And a deeper sense of fulfillment.
Becoming means that there is Or there was.
Something to work through.
Maybe it was a challenge,
Maybe a trial.
Maybe something within your control.
Maybe not.
Becoming can lead us to true success and happiness,
Which is about our character and not about the material items.
That we have gained.
The coming is about the wisdom we have acquired.
Becoming helps us to overcome current and future challenges.
And any fear associated with them.
Becoming creates value within us.
And helps us make an impact in our sphere of influence.
Becoming improves our life quality.
As we choose to step from one place in life.
To another.
So how do we do it?
How do we incorporate the idea of becoming into our daily lives?
Well.
.
.
We simply make the choice to do so.
We intentionally choose to change.
We choose to become more.
And that's what life is all about,
Becoming more.
Becoming more kinder.
More loving,
More warm.
Becoming more gentle.
More patient.
Filled with wonder.
Becoming more so that we can do more.
To enjoy the life that we have been given.
So let's get ready to begin.
Let your hands fall naturally by your side.
Maybe they're in your lap.
Let's settle into this moment.
Take a big,
Deep breath.
And then exhale.
Let's get ready.
Find confidence in knowing that you have chosen this time for you.
This is valuable time.
This can be healing time.
So as you settle in,
Take a few more deep breaths.
Breathe deep into your belly.
And exhale long and slow.
Repeat this a few more times.
Inhale.
And exhale.
Inhale.
And exhale.
With each exhale,
Let go of the days so far.
Relax.
Relax your hands,
Relax your feet.
Relax your face.
Smile a little bit.
This is going to be so great.
As thoughts enter your mind,
Allow them to drift away,
Acknowledge them.
Honor them.
Is not the time for them.
So let them go.
If you have not already,
I invite you to close your eyes as we begin our journey together.
In this relaxed and calm state,
Imagine a beach.
A place right at the edge of the ocean.
Something sandy,
Sunny and warm.
Imagine yourself ready to explore this space.
Look out to the water.
Look out to the distant horizon.
Notice the time of day.
Maybe the sun is rising and it's morning.
Maybe it's midday.
And bright blue sky.
Maybe the sun is setting.
That's evening.
You choose.
What this day looks like for you.
You start walking toward the water.
You notice how the ground fills beneath your feet.
Softer.
More giving.
Your feet sink at times.
You feel the warmth of the sand in your toes.
You hear the sound of the water.
With the waves rolling in.
Rippling it makes as it goes back out to the ocean.
You hear birds overhead.
Maybe you hear other people enjoying the beach.
Laughing,
Talking with one another.
A jogger passes by.
And you hear the sound of heavy breathing.
You pause to look around.
You see palm trees in the distance.
Maybe there's a peer.
You decide what your beach looks like and what gets to be there.
This is your journey.
This is your space.
This time is for you.
Enjoy the sensations that come from this moment.
Imagine the sun on your skin.
Humidity in the air.
Take this moment to give yourself a compliment.
What would you say right now?
Say it gently to yourself.
And repeat it as often as you need.
Simple affirmation.
Lord,
Praise.
Something you may have been longing to hear.
Something that helps you become a little more.
You decide to take a walk down the beach.
You walk to the edge of the water.
And begin moving.
You feel the wet sand under your feet.
You feel the movement and sinking with each step.
This sound is different.
It's cooler.
And feel spongy.
Water rolls in and around your ankles.
It feels cold but refreshing on this warm day.
As you walk.
You notice a rock formation.
Starts far back on the beach and grows into the water.
You watch as the waves crash against it.
You want to get closer.
And as you do,
You feel the mist that each wave sends into the air.
The rocks are calling for you to climb on them for a better look.
As you are exploring this rock structure,
You notice a small wooden box.
It seems to have been placed so perfectly.
Almost as if it was meant to be found by you.
You are drawn to this box.
You know that whatever is inside of this box is specifically meant for you.
You open it up.
There's nothing inside.
But you notice that you are flooded with a feeling.
This feeling of becoming.
You weren't sure what it means.
But you know that it feels right.
It feels good.
It fills whole.
This feeling has seated inside of you.
You notice a change taking place.
It's not clear what change is happening.
But you know that everything is different now.
You feel capable and able.
You feel stronger and more resilient.
You feel there is a clear direction and movement.
You decide to relish in this feeling.
And take a moment to sit on the rocks.
You watch the waves crashing in.
Feeling the Mist.
You smell the salt in the air.
You once again hear the birds overhead.
You close your eyes.
The sun feels so warm on your skin.
You lift your face up to the sky to soak in the protective feeling that is surrounding you.
You smile.
Life is good.
This moment is good.
As you open your eyes,
A butterfly comes by.
You marvel at its golden wings.
Everything feels right in this moment.
As you make your way down the rocks and back to your starting point.
You know that this journey has changed you.
This idea of becoming is now a part of you.
You ponder on what that means.
What feels different?
What do you feel capable of?
How do you know that it has a place inside?
How will you let it manifest?
As you end this journey,
You felt joy.
So as we come back into our bodies,
Let's take some deep breaths and out.
In.
Out.
With each breath in.
Imagine you becoming more.
Wiggle your toes.
Wiggle your fingers.
Rock your head from side to side.
Smile a little bit.
Slowly and gently.
Open your eyes.
As you go about your day,
I invite you to ponder on the idea of becoming.
Learn about it.
Read about it.
Think about how this make it self-present in your life today.
