I'm going to let everybody get logged in.
Just take the usual moment and I would always ask you.
To do what I.
.
.
Believe is the best thing a person can do with their time,
Which is to reclaim their attention.
And be as present as they can to themselves,
Not just in some thought or wish.
But in an action that is inclusive.
We're going to look at something fascinating today.
And because I have so much material.
Even though it is in some respects simple to understand.
We're going to look at a.
.
.
A number of different analogies that will help us begin to connect what I call a way in which we can see.
The how the celestial hides in the common.
In the common is hidden the celestial.
Kate,
Let's bring up the talk title and let's.
.
.
Get on with it.
The title of the talk is How to Watch Worries and Fear.
Appear and disappear without lifting a finger.
I trust you know the expression.
I hope it's not an old one.
That means effortlessly.
It means there is the capacity,
The possibility.
Of us to have such a completely different relationship with life.
That we're no longer struggling in the usual way,
Let alone suffering in the useless way as we've always done when certain moments come along and we find ourselves in a struggle to change control or otherwise.
Avoid those moments.
So with that in mind.
Kate,
Let's have the first key lesson.
And then you and I,
We will all get busy studying the material for today.
Read along with me and don't do it idly,
If I may ask.
Only the foolish or otherwise vain Try to create a life outside the inexplicable flow of the divine.
The currency of heaven is change.
And the wise invest in its coin.
The currency of heaven is change,
And the wise invest in its coin.
How open are you to unwanted moments where change unexpected and in many ways felt as a instantaneous threat filled with consequences?
How open are you to this kind of change?
And if we'll be honest,
Which we have to be.
We're not very open to it at all.
So I want to look at something with you and it's useless if you don't take the time while I'm speaking where instead of trying to follow and listen and I got it to see,
Well,
Is that true?
Is that,
Is there a relationship between what he is saying and my experience?
Because unless you do that,
This is pointless.
So I want to see something with you.
With any negative reaction.
There is always one of two things that takes place.
With any negative reaction,
See it.
Number one,
Instant judgment and blame.
Is that not always on the heels of a negative reaction?
Is that not one of the things?
What's the other thing on the heel of any negative reaction?
And that is an instant analysis to come up with who to judge or to blame,
And then with both,
Come up with a rescue plan.
Judgment and blame or analyze that reaction in the moment to find out what's causing it so that then I can get on with rescuing myself or relieving you of the responsibility of being in my life.
Either way,
It is the same outcome,
Isn't it?
That's what we're looking at.
And what's the same outcome?
Nothing real changes.
That's the outcome.
We don't see.
That we continue to literally reoccur,
That our lives are virtually a reenaction of what happened not just 10 minutes ago,
But what took place 10 days ago and 10 years ago.
We don't see it because the conditions,
The things that disturb us seemed like they're new.
And we're going to look at this in such a way to see that look,
Yeah,
There may be a slightly different disturbance,
But the consciousness undergoing that sense of disturbance and the reaction that comes out of it,
Exact same consciousness,
This exact same outcome.
Nothing changes and we never suspect.
That this action,
In quotes,
That we take following our reaction,
Is not only misguided.
But ensures time and time again that this lower level of consciousness remains a captive.
Of its own reactions in a very dark loop.
A loop of false conclusions based on incomplete analysis,
A reaction to the conclusion,
Where our reaction is telling us you,
They,
This,
There's the problem.
And once it's clear what we know as the cause of the problem,
Then we understand the pain.
The pain belongs to what we perceive.
And what we don't see is that what we perceive isn't real,
But rather,
Is an actual reflection of the consciousness involved in that moment.
That's why the possibility of change seems like it's always there.
But we don't recognize that the conditions don't change because the consciousness that meets these moments is the same consciousness,
Follows the same reactions,
And then the same plans that turn out to be its prison.
A long series of sentences,
But I trust that you can understand that before we go on.
I'll ask you get the general picture here.
Suffering begins in us.
Something in us.
Senses a disturbance going on around us.
That we think is only taking place around us.
But cannot see what is going on around us is actually going on within us at the same time.
If we knew that the reaction wasn't just what's around us.
And rather it is to withdraw.
What is within us,
Then we would know.
That the mind that goes looking for a name,
And it does,
Doesn't it?
We just covered it.
The mind goes looking for a familiar name.
To come up with what it is that it's looking at.
And fails to see that whatever name it finds,
Brings with that name something that is already known about the moment.
Now the moment,
Every moment is a new moment.
No one can argue about that.
But if it's actually a new moment and my mind finds a name for it,
A name that isn't new,
But rather a name that is the renewal of that consciousness that never resolved the first problem,
Than we can see.
This consciousness comes to an interpretation It resists its own conclusion.
As it resists its own conclusion as to the nature of the problem,
It suffers its conclusion.
And as it suffers its own conclusion,
It has a reaction to its suffering.
And so it reincarnates that same false sense of self that actually depends on keeping that chain of reactions in place.
You following me?
Try to show you a bigger picture before we get into something.
That will help us actually.
Have a new look,
A new way to see all of this going on.
So it brings us to the question in the talk title.
Is it possible?
To watch these reactions,
These worries,
And there's fears,
This anxiety.
Is it possible to watch this appear?
And disappear without lifting a finger.
Because to us,
If you're honest,
You know,
See,
I know,
I knew a lot of you are going to say,
Yes,
It is,
But honest to God,
Look,
Intellectually,
You get it.
You may have knowledge.
Yes,
It's possible.
We're going to build on understanding.
But if I knew it was possible to watch this impatience come up.
And as it comes up,
Not follow the chain reaction to make sure the person I see is responsible for the pain of that condition,
That they suffer the brunt of my judgment.
We can't see.
We think we can,
That's part of our problem.
So until we can actually see these things.
We are going to be complicit in ensuring that we passively continue to endure a painful state.
That if we understand it properly,
Which we will,
Has no authority over us at all,
Except for where it is that we identify with it.
And then believe that this identification is proof of intelligence and out of that a plan.
Where nothing comes.
That's the setting for the talk.
It took 10 minutes.
Nice deep breath,
Everybody.
I'm describing to you what I want you to start seeing in a completely different order of understanding.
I alluded to it at the top of the talk.
We've all heard the expression,
As above,
So below.
My take on as above so below is within the common is hidden the celestial.
This idea As above,
So below.
Has been a core teaching throughout time.
And many traditions,
True traditions.
Describe creation.
As an interaction of three principal forces.
As above so below.
These interaction of these three principal forces,
We know Western people as a rule.
As a living trinity.
Christianity speaks of the Father,
The Son,
The Holy Ghost.
Other teachings,
Eastern teachings,
Call them active,
Passive,
Reconciling,
Creative,
Destructive,
Or maintaining,
So forth and so on.
But nevertheless,
All of these principles operate appear,
If you will,
Out of an overseeing underlying act of creation that gives rise to what seems to be separate forces.
This is acting on me.
This is me trying to change that,
That we run around in an unending,
Ultimately descending circle.
Because we can't see yet.
That these forces that are the basis of our reaction.
Themselves have already and will always already have built into them their own reconciliation.
We as human beings cannot imagine that there is a world where we don't have to get involved with trying to make sure everyone else is the way they're supposed to be according to us,
And that we don't have to become or achieve what the world tells us we have to be or become.
So I want to look at this idea as above so below.
I want to look at this trinity.
No matter the words that we give it,
Affirming,
Denying,
Modifying,
It doesn't matter.
Whenever an active force meets a passive body.
In the moment when what is active meets what is passive.
There appears a temporary imbalance between the two.
Active meets passive,
Wind meets tree.
Wave meets shore.
Active meets what resists it,
And in that resistance there is a friction.
There's an imbalance between the forces.
And because of that imbalance,
There is a kind of friction.
Neither one of these opposing forces,
The wind or the nature of the tree,
The wind doesn't know.
The relationship it's in.
And the tree doesn't understand the wind that is acting on it.
Left to themselves,
Wind and tree,
Wave and shore,
They would remain,
So to speak,
Locked in a kind of unconscious stalemate.
Where each one seems to continue in a role that opposes the other.
Now,
So blinded.
By this struggle.
That we see outside of us.
We don't recognize it's taking place within us.
We cannot see yet,
And we will before this talk is over.
That hidden in this intersection between these two forces.
Hidden in the exchange moment in that friction is a deep hidden need.
Hidden in these moments where these seemingly opposing forces meet,
There is a deep celestial need that belongs to neither one of those forces alone.
The need that doesn't belong to either force alone,
But that appears when they meet,
Is the need for their struggle to be reconciled.
Every time active meets passive,
There is an imbalance.
The imbalance comes into this world as part of a world where harmony is already established,
And that momentary appearance of these forces creates a need within them to be reconciled back to the greater whole from out of which they've come.
I hope that's not too confusing.
I'm going to explain this to you.
In very simple terms.
If there is this need,
Do you not,
When you have a problem,
When you feel a disturbance,
Can you not see there's always a desire on the heel of the disturbance?
Isn't there always a distrust?
Oh,
No,
Look at that.
Isn't there always something coming up after that?
Here's what I need to do.
Here's where I need to go.
Here's what I need to fix.
Yes or no?
That's the need inherent when these forces meet.
This desire to find peace,
To restore balance.
It is in that moment where this need appears.
In the same moment,
An unseen third force appears.
And the unseen third force is not just active.
It is not just passive.
And it doesn't take sides with either one of these opposing forces,
But serves to reveal and transform and to use their relationships.
As the ground of a new creation.
Now,
We don't see the new creation come out of the disturbance we have in a reaction.
Why?
Because we are busy creating out of that disturbance what we believe is needed in order to be content again.
And we looked,
If we did at all,
That this contentment is as slippery,
As unstable as the conditions we create to bring it about.
But nevertheless,
You can see in nature,
And we're going to look deeply at this,
There is no moment when something active,
The force of the moon moves the tide.
The sun moves the grasses and gives them the life it needs to take from the root.
There's none of that that doesn't produce a new conception in every moment of that interaction.
We're just not present to the new conception within us.
Because we're too busy creating it according to some image we have of what's missing or needs to be fixed.
What I'm describing to you,
I've got to keep moving.
In the ancient teachings and you've seen it even on a dollar bill.
The all-seeing eye.
In that equilateral triangle,
The all-seeing eye.
The eye in that triangle,
The triangle representing these three forces,
The eye represents a higher form of seeing and actually an awareness that appears in that instead of being on one side or the other of the opposing forces.
Can see the truth as that their temporary appearance The disturbance.
Is actually complimentary.
So these forces that seem to be opposing one another,
They're not opposing one another.
What they are is producing from their union a new possibility that didn't exist before and that is brought into existence by this third force,
This The Holy Ghost.
That allows them to go through the transformation inherent,
Intended in their meeting.
So this awareness,
If you're following me,
Relative to our understanding,
Our level of it is an undivided order of consciousness.
An undivided order of consciousness.
A consciousness that's at peace with itself.
How else do you think you become aware of a disturbance?
Do you think you are the one who became aware of that disturbance?
You aren't the one that became aware of that disturbance.
That disturbance created a sudden order of awareness that as it appeared,
Then you in quotes show up and try to figure out what made it happen and what you have to do to get it to go away.
So this undivided order of consciousness,
It senses this imbalance that I'm describing to you.
It senses the imbalance inherent in the appearance of what seems opposing forces.
Only instead of being pushed along as we are.
By the reaction and trying to resolve the pain of that conflict.
This undivided consciousness watches these forces at play.
Older teachings call it lila,
Lila.
This undivided consciousness watches them at play.
Listen,
Knowing they will under law return back into the light from out of which they came.
Knowing that what seems to be separate is not separate from itself,
But has come out of itself and will return into itself.
Did you catch any of that?
Because I'm going to help you see it now in real time.
I know it was deep.
But I'm hoping that you were able to grasp some of this movement,
This relationship.
Let me keep going.
Nice deep breath.
Where I live here in Florida.
Is on a bay of intercoastal waters.
And apart from the oceanic tides that move in and out of this bay.
It's largely sheltered from the dynacism of the ocean that holds it.
So most of the time,
The waters of this bay are relatively quiet,
Relatively calm.
But at the same time,
This bay,
Even as I'm looking at it while I'm talking to you,
Is never without some kind of feature changing on its surface.
So in its depths.
It's one thing,
On its surface it's another.
A fish,
For instance,
And it always happens,
The mullets in the morning especially,
They rise to feed.
When they come up,
They pop up,
They leave a circle of ripples moving across the water.
A breeze?
Out of nowhere will strike one section of the bay.
And in that one section,
It will make these little mini waves.
While the rest of the bay sits.
Seemingly flat.
Or an unseen current will run through these waters.
And as always seems to happen.
You see these islands of undisturbed water,
Flat,
Perfectly reflecting,
And the rest is all kind of rippling.
So you can see if you're following me that there is at all points and times some kind of action taking place on the surface of the bay.
That is created by an interaction with a force not directly related to the waters it is acting on.
Are you getting the picture here,
The bigger picture?
So each disturbance appears.
Takes a form.
Reveals what it does as it is given to do.
And then as soon as that form appears in that little patch,
It's gone.
The ripples spread,
Fade.
The wind moves on where each one of these disturbances is what?
It is absorbed.
It has absorbed its energy back into the depths of the bay that gave that form its momentary life.
Still following me?
Imagine if the base said,
Oh,
I don't want that ripple.
Get out of me,
Fish.
No,
No,
Don't.
You're messing up my,
My,
My,
My watery hair.
You're messing with me.
But these disturbances.
In the bay.
Just as they are not suppressed.
In us,
Each one of these disturbances is instantaneously suppressed.
Suppressed how?
By trying to figure out what has caused it.
What we need to do to control it or change the condition so that then,
In quotes,
We can return to this quiet depth of water that we believe ourselves to have been prior to what you did or they said.
You following the transition with me?
Please.
The ripple on the water.
It doesn't need to understand.
How to return.
To the waters that gave birth to it,
Does it?
Do the ripples need to understand what caused them?
Or regardless of cause,
Will they simply disappear back into the depths from out of which they came?
And that's clear.
But,
And why do they disappear back into the waters that they never left?
Because they never left those waters.
For a moment,
They just took on appearance that looked different than the rest of the water that was revealing them.
So that disturbance,
Whatever form it takes,
Was never separate from the body that is revealing its temporary character.
Hope you see this.
Now take a nice deep breath.
The Bay!
I'm describing to you.
You can see it's actually a living Mandela.
It is forever being created and revealing the laws.
That are manifesting the shapes and forms.
And even as that's all taking place,
They're being wiped clean.
Woof,
Here.
Woof,
Gone.
So the bay is a living Mandela.
It's actually a reflection of the divine.
Because it is all of the divine and planetary,
Cosmic,
Celestial,
So forth and so on.
All the laws we cannot see,
All manifesting,
Producing different effects and all of them acting on this bay that then reflects these effects.
So you could say the bay is reacting,
Which it is.
But it doesn't see its reaction as separate from the waters that are revealing those reactions.
So do you see it?
The bay is a living Mandela.
Yes.
Take a nice deep breath.
So are we.
Okay.
The temporary patches in the bay.
Are manifesting the appearance of intersecting energies.
And forever always revealing new forms.
That even as it reveals the new possibilities,
Then absorbs them back into the greater body that allowed their appearance.
Each one of these patches.
Reveals a real movement.
But no temporary patch has an existence apart from the waters that pass through it.
Produce it.
Do you see this?
Because if you can see this,
Can you make the transition with me?
Can you see this bay and how its waters?
Might help us realize something about our own consciousness that we don't even suspect as yet.
And to help you see this,
I have another key lesson.
Kate,
Please bring up the second key lesson.
I haven't time to spend on this.
You'll have to come back and look at it.
I would urge you to do so.
A breeze.
A brisk breeze sweeps over the bay.
A painful memory moves through consciousness.
An active force meets a passive state and there's resistance.
Friction.
Ripples of water in the bay or waves of fear in us.
Unseen forces move through us,
Stirring unknown waters.
We no more originate these inner reactions than the bay creates the streams of air that stir its water.
We no more originate these inner reactions than the bay creates the streams of air that stir its waters.
But we don't see it that way,
Do we?
The inherent friction.
In any reaction,
This is deep,
Stay with me,
The inherent friction in any reaction creates a kind of light.
Just as we can see,
The inherent friction between the wind and the water produces a wave.
The inherent friction in us when something active meets this passive consciousness,
This old nature,
It produces in that instant,
A light that reveals something about the nature of the consciousness in which it appears.
And only in that light.
Are these active and passive forces visible at the same time,
Revealing what can't be seen otherwise?
That these opposing forces are actually a single movement in a single mind,
Just as the breeze that moves the waters in the bay are a single movement creating a single patchwork of water that belong to a single and simple bay.
If we can see that what I've described is true.
Can we also see the following?
And I'm going to go into this more deeply tomorrow,
If you can join me.
When any reaction I'll ask you this,
I'll go at it this way.
Is the breeze over the bay that creates the ripples?
Does the breeze have a personal problem with the bay?
I don't like the way you're sitting there,
Bay.
I'm going to disturb you.
Or is that reaction between the breeze and the waters an impersonal action producing an impersonal result?
That becomes impersonal again.
Only belonging to the larger person in which all of that is reflected.
So this is the same when it comes to us.
These reactions are the impersonal action of forces that if we leave them to their own natural reconciliation,
Will return to the broader body of life from out of which they came.
They will reconcile themselves naturally.
Which is why we don't have to lift a finger in the face of a worry or a fear if we understand that.
Awareness senses the disturbance.
The bay senses the wind,
The wind reveals a character in the bay,
The awareness reveals a character in us now disturbed.
And when all of that's taking place and allowed to take place,
Everything at all levels as above,
So below return those energies to the deeper waters from out of which they've come.
So this temporary reaction becomes part of a new understanding rather than the beginning of another old suffering.
Do you see it?
So in that moment,
What happens?
The original moment,
The original reaction has no story.
Other than it is telling something about the nature of life.
But when we have a reaction,
Man,
Is there a story.
Instantaneously,
This associated mind supplies a background derives an identity and in the derivative identity comes a fear of consequence.
And then that irritation becomes.
What have you done to me?
Why are you acting like this?
And so now we have a future filled with all the actions that we need to take to get rid of a disturbance that if we understood the nature of the reaction,
We would realize it appears,
It reveals,
Then it is released into the ground from out of which it has come.
And what I'm saying to you is this whole unconscious pattern can be seen.
I'm describing it to you.
This patchwork quilt,
What we call ourself,
Is revealed for what it is.
By a light that is clearly not of its own making.
In fact,
The fact that we can actually see ourselves in a new light proves that the light we usually see ourselves in is darkness.
So this awareness that I'm describing to you does not belong to either side of the conflict.
Can you see that?
It's not for or against what we otherwise,
Through association,
Decide is good or evil.
This is why Christ,
The true meaning of that passage,
He said about his father,
He makes his light shine on the good and evil alike.
I'm describing to you what this light is that shines on good and evil alike,
Because when that light shines,
It shows that good and evil don't exist apart from the nature calling that moment and that reaction good or evil.
And when we see that.
The conclusion is seen as something being self-defined.
And without lifting a finger because we will not hurt ourselves consciously.
It's dropped.
Quick story.
Father and his daughter moved from a city to a small town on a bay.
She has to go to a new school.
New friend's nightmare.
One afternoon,
A week after they get there,
She runs to her room,
Slams the door.
Dad comes up.
What's wrong,
Sweetheart?
And it's obvious.
She feels isolated.
Rejected.
Regrets leaving her friends at the old school and very sure as a result of all that that she will never belong in this place.
It'll never be right.
Isn't it true when you're in a negative place,
Nothing will ever be right?
And that what you call right comes out of a certain so-called light that says,
Well,
Look downstream,
Look here,
That's where it'll get better.
So father doesn't argue.
He doesn't say this,
Sweetheart,
This is foolish.
He doesn't say,
Don't worry,
Things are going to get better tomorrow.
Instead,
He says,
Come with me,
Sweetheart.
And he invites her to walk with him down to the edge of the water,
Where there's a small dock.
And they walk out on the dock and they sit together looking over the water.
After a while,
Sitting there.
She's kind of looking down and she's,
Wait,
Look,
Look at that.
And what he's pointing to is a clear patch.
Right on that bay is in clear contrast to the ripples on the surface.
He says,
Look at that,
That's cool,
Isn't it?
I don't know.
Two minutes later,
Oh,
Look at that.
Watch,
He said.
Where did that patch go?
I don't know,
What are you talking about?
Well,
You could see a moment there was this clear patch,
Now it's gone.
Where did it go?
I don't know,
She said.
And even as she's answering,
You say,
Wait a minute,
Look,
Look,
Look over there.
And I don't know if you've ever seen this,
But when cross currents come,
Some currents will pick up sand or dirt from the bottom,
Some sediment,
And suddenly there'll be a patch of water that looks brown and another one look perfectly blue right next to each other.
See it all the time on the coast.
Just look at that!
She goes,
What?
You look at the difference.
He says,
Isn't that amazing?
Why is that kind of brownish and that's perfectly light blue?
Yeah,
I see it.
Minute later,
He said,
Sweetheart,
Remember,
Where did that patch go?
That difference go?
Dad,
I don't know.
She said,
It's just gone.
And then he says to her,
Did you and I make that patch up here?
That's silly,
No?
Well,
Did we make it disappear?
What are you driving at?
No,
She said.
Well,
What,
He said.
If you could see the same thing holds true related to this recent painful moment that you've had in school.
If you could see,
You didn't make it appear and you didn't make it disappear.
Then you could actually understand how it could no longer be a problem in your life without lifting a finger to make the pain go away.
What if that were a possibility,
He said to her.
Would you like that?
To make fear and worry disappear without lifting a finger?
She can't argue the point.
She's felt certain things that he helped her to see.
Yes,
I would.
He said,
Do you want to learn how?
And in spite of being a daughter.
Tends to resist any guidance.
Yes,
I would.
All right,
He said.
Everybody get the story with me.
I got to keep going.
I'm going to run out of time for sure.
He said,
All right,
What caused the patches of waters that we were watching come and go?
She said,
I don't know.
He said there was a reaction.
Between the waters and what was acting on them to produce that patch that we could see.
And then he said,
And where do the patches go when the forces that have created them back off?
She says,
Back into the bay?
Yes,
He said,
Exactly.
He was trying to help her see.
That no momentary disturbance is a permanent condition.
That anyone has to suffer in the moment,
Let alone in some tormented tomorrow as imagined,
But rather that temporary disturbance is a temporary result.
Of passing conditions,
Producing a reaction on the surface of life.
That if one stayed present to the relationship between the disturbance and the nature that feels disturbed,
We would start to be able to see it rises and it falls.
It appears and it disappears.
It's only life.
Appears to remain in place because of a certain phenomena we don't see about ourselves.
Big transition.
Kate,
Please bring up the third key lesson.
This is why these temporary patches become permanent problems.
A temporary patch of disturbed water can become,
Psychologically speaking,
An island.
Or perhaps more accurately,
An eye land.
The original reaction creates a momentary patch of disturbance in us.
We see this.
That momentary patch,
If it was left alone and understood,
It's just a momentary appearance.
It would go away,
It would be absorbed,
It would disappear.
But in us,
Unconscious associations begin to populate that disturbance.
So that now through association,
I begin to give form to the disturbance and I land.
One thought attracts another.
Memory supplies history,
And without knowing it,
In a heartbeat,
That disturbance that has no name.
Has a name.
A moment that has no form because it is a movement between heaven and earth.
It has a form.
And in that same instance,
A false sense of self apart from the waters from out of which it arose is there now as a permanent I land.
This is how this process of unconsciously associating with the thoughts that come with our own reaction,
Begin to accrete and gather layer after layer of thought deposited around what was a reaction that would have appeared and disappeared.
But we don't allow it.
It won't allow it.
Our task,
If we understand what I'm driving at here.
Is to recognize that when worry fear,
Anxiety,
Irritation,
Whatever the nature of that painful reaction is.
When it appears,
Remain present to it instead of populating the little island that associations begin to build.
Don't let the disturbance,
Which would be passing,
Drag you into a memory that seems to explain what the disturbance means.
I know this is shocking to you.
You have no idea what anything that disturbs you means.
What you have is a,
Is a,
An explanation produced by a conditioned mind itself,
The conditioned product of a consciousness through millennia that seeks to keep in place this I land,
This land of all these individual I's,
This me,
This you,
All of that sense of separation.
If you don't populate it,
If you don't struggle to make it disappear.
If you don't enlist imagination as a guide to lead you to safety,
You will sit there,
You will watch that patch appear,
And then you will watch that problem disappear because the patch is not a problem,
It is a perception of the reality of the moment.
So the task,
As we always talk about it,
Is to see the whole movement.
Not to be on the side of what's active.
I've got to do this against that.
Not I'm against what just happened because that shouldn't be that way.
Because what we're describing is a moment in which by the grace of the divine,
We are being brought into a world that is forever bringing up inside of us,
All of the material intended to be transformed within us.
Everything that sits outside of the whole of creation.
In its incomplete state.
Requires something to reveal it is incomplete.
And in that moment of recognizing this incomplete state of myself to realize a need.
A need to do what?
Not to change,
Fix,
Or otherwise control,
But a need to be reconciled to that which is revealing to me all of this about myself.
So if we see the negative reaction and our resistance to it at the same time.
Then we have an awareness of the field in which these forces are appearing.
What we leave alone.
In the light of awareness.
Does not remain unchanged.
We're afraid things won't change.
Which incidentally is why nothing changes.
We're afraid things won't change,
Which is why nothing changes.
Because fear born of resistance ensures that what it is you're pushing against remains in place because it's so substantial to the sense of self that comes out of it.
The next time a dark patch.
How many of you figure you'll have a dark patch appear sometime today?
The next time a dark patch.
Appears and crosses the water of essentially the soul.
Remember the bay.
Not remember the Alamo,
Remember the bay.
Watch for how that island appears.
Let the ripple reveal what it has come to reveal.
Let the wind move where it will.
Don't build an island out of a passing wave.
Catch yourself,
Watch there's something in me that wants to keep adding to this moment that if it was left alone would return to the depths from out of which it came.
And then I wouldn't need to lift a finger because God,
If you would,
Would be doing all of the work for me as is intended to happen when it comes to my soul.
Then you'll discover how to watch worries and fears disappear without lifting a finger.
And you'll know the truth of what I've told you today,
But not if you don't explore,
Experiment,
And then risk what takes place when you don't build another island out of the moment.
So we have a few minutes.
Maybe three or four minutes if you want to.
Discuss,
Bring up questions,
Comments.
I'm happy to entertain whatever it is that you are interested in,
You know,
What's the word,
Discussing with me.
Happy to have that if you have anything on your mind.
Otherwise,
We can sit and watch.
The Ripples.
Watch the waves.
Funny,
Isn't it how there's a part of us that loves to watch the diamonds on the water,
The waves come and go,
Ebb and flow.
And that there's a peace in that.
And yet when the time comes for us to enter into this peace that passes understanding.
To let the wave come and let it go.
No chance,
Bob,
Not me.
I remember when I was a kid,
I don't know if you did this,
This is pretty evident to our human nature,
I loved to stand against the waves.
I would walk out and wait for the wave to come and I'd brace myself.
And try to make sure that the wave didn't knock me down.
No wave's going to knock me down.
This is part of the arrogance of an unconscious nature.
That experiences itself and wants to experience itself as other than acts against it.
Hi,
Tony.
We can only learn peace when we experience non-peace.
Tony,
I'm not sure what that means.
If you're saying,
And I think maybe you are,
That as we become awake and aware of what produces this disturbance in us,
And we realize that this disturbance has its own time and place and it is not set against us,
Awareness of that non-peace,
That is where we discover there is a peace that was already there waiting for us to remand it back over to that life.
Nice to see you,
By the way,
Tony.
Yes,
The bay is a great teacher.
Nature,
You know,
Most of you know.
What greater teacher is there than nature?
I forgot what one of these saints,
One of these great masters,
They said that nature is the divine teacher and everything after is the book of life and that everything after that is commentary written by so-called preachers and people that want to be seen as an authority.
It's all right in front of us.
It's all unfolding within us all the time.
We just have to remain present instead of trying to push everything away that we feel is pushing against us.
Us.
The only thing pushing against you is trying to help you move out of a certain fixed place to see that everything that is moving is moving everything.
And that you're not apart from what is moving.
You're not apart from what is being revealed.
You're not apart from the revelation of that moment.
All of this is a singularity we are intended to experience.
And I described that,
Donna.
The Holy Ghost is that which appears when these forces,
Active and passive,
Meet each other,
And it alone can do with these forces that which they cannot do with themselves.
The wind can't marry itself,
Can't produce the new conception out of the tree,
And the tree can't produce from the wind,
From itself,
The new conception that comes when the strength is born out of their interaction.
But something is there and marries these things to reveal they were already married.
Key to reveal they were already as one and need no one to try to make one of them just to see that that is their true state.
