In this ancient practice of Yoga Nidra,

We embark on a transformative voyage that transcends the boundaries of wakefulness and slumber.

To practice is an invitation to explore the landscape of your inner world,

A sanctuary where profound tranquility and rejuvenating sleep reside.

Yoga Nidra is a practice that allows us to achieve a state of conscious relaxation,

Bridging the gap between wakefulness and dreaming.

In this state,

The body is at complete ease and the mind becomes profoundly receptive.

It is said that just 20 minutes of Yoga Nidra can be as restorative as several hours of conventional sleep,

Making it a powerful tool for combating stress,

Enhancing creativity and promoting overall well-being.

During this practice,

It's okay to fall asleep.

You will still experience the benefits of Yoga Nidra while you sleep,

Because consciousness is still functioning at a deeper level of awareness.

As we embark on this journey together,

I invite you to find a quiet space where you won't be disturbed.

Lie down in a comfortable position,

Allowing your body to fully surrender to the support beneath you.

You may use pillows and blankets to help make you more comfortable as we journey into a restful slumber.

Throughout this session,

We will traverse through the landscapes of relaxation,

Utilizing visualizations,

Breath awareness,

And intentional release to guide you into a state of deep calm and sleep.

The coming minutes are an opportunity to cultivate stillness,

Explore the beauty of your inner world and ultimately drift into a restful and rejuvenating sleep.

So let us begin this odyssey of self-discovery and serenity as we delve into the profound practice of Yoga Nidra.

Place your arms by your sides with your palms facing the sky and your feet apart.

Allow your eyes to gently close and connect with your body breathing.

Take a deep breath in and exhale slowly.

Feel the weight of your body sinking into the surface beneath you.

With each breath,

Let go of the tension in your muscles,

Allowing your body to become more and more relaxed.

If thoughts come to your mind about your work or day,

Become an observer of your thoughts and let them go.

Live here and now in this present moment and release all your concerns.

Bring your awareness to your body.

Imagine a soft and gentle flower petal hovering just above your body.

This petal can have any color and shape.

Use your imagination and visualize maybe the petal of your favorite flower in your favorite color.

Become aware of your toes,

Feeling each one individually.

Picture the soft petal gently touching the tips of your toes,

Bringing a sense of warmth and relaxation.

Allow any tension to dissolve as the petal moves to the soles of your feet and exhale and let all the pressure out.

Sense this petal as it travels up through your ankles,

Soothing and calming every muscle it encounters.

Feel the sensation of relaxation spreading to your calves and shins as if a gentle breeze is passing through.

Now let the petal travel to your knees,

Surrounding them with a comforting glow.

As you breathe,

Visualize any lingering tension melting away,

Leaving your lower limbs in a state of blissful relaxation.

Slide the soft petal to your thighs and hips,

Allowing it to release any stored tension in these powerful muscles.

Picture a cascade of relaxation flowing down,

Like a gentle stream washing away any fatigue or discomfort.

As the petal reaches your pelvic area,

Feel a deep sense of grounding and stability.

Let go of any lingering tightness or unease in this space,

Allowing it to be cradled in a sense of serenity.

Move your petal and awareness to your lower back and abdomen wall.

Feel the rhythmic rise and fall of your breath and with each exhale,

Visualize any stress or tightness dissipating,

Bring your attention to your chest and upper back.

Imagine each breath expanding your chest,

Opening up space for relaxation.

Feel the soothing petal gently massaging away any knots or tension.

Now let the warmth of the petal travel through your fingertips,

Palms and wrists.

Feel a release of any remaining stress,

Allowing your hands and wrists to relax completely.

Slide the petal up your forearms and elbows,

Melting away any tension along the way.

Feel the weight of your arms sinking into the surface beneath you as they become heavy with relaxation.

As the flower petal reaches your shoulders,

Visualize them softening and dropping away from your ears.

Allow any burdens you may carry in this area to dissolve,

Leaving your shoulders free and at ease.

Move your awareness to your neck,

Releasing any tightness or constriction.

Picture the warm petal gently cradling your throat,

Creating a sense of openness and ease in your breath.

Focus on your face.

Soften the muscles around your eyes,

Cheeks and jaw.

Imagine the petal soothing away any tension,

Leaving your facial muscles in a state of serene rest.

Take a moment to scan your entire body,

From the tips of your toes to the crown of your head,

And notice the profound sense of relaxation that has settled within.

Allow yourself to rest in this tranquil state.

You are now relaxed and ready to continue your journey into restful stillness and deep sleep.

Picture in your mind a beautiful sunrise,

Maybe in your favorite place in nature.

Feel the serenity of this moment,

Allowing the peaceful energy of the sunrise to surround your entire being.

Visualize the first light of day.

Feel the warmth and love.
