So I was standing in the crowd of a place all too full to attempt a moment of silence,
The DJ nonetheless.
Encourage the moment one,
Two,
Three times before we reach the sound of hushes and shh.
The volume decreased from a 10 to a 3,
And I would say that's pretty impressive for a group that had been set into party mode.
In those brief seconds,
I unexpectedly still heard each voice of someone who disregarded the moment of silence as if they were right next to me.
I could decipher their words as they traveled across a sea of people.
I could pinpoint which direction the voices were coming from.
I could hear the tone slip from their tongues.
And it was then that I not only noticed,
But felt the weight of one individual voice.
It remains a constant idea up for discussion if what we say makes a difference,
If our words are influential,
If what we say matters.
When we're one amongst many,
It doesn't seem like it.
We find ourselves drowning in others,
Getting lost in the sounds outside.
But think of all the conversations you've had that completely altered your perspective.
Think of the seeds that you,
Yourself,
Have planted in others,
And we're lucky enough to watch grow.
Although your voice and.
To a crowd,
Maybe it's not about being heard in that setting that creates change.
But it's each whisper to a friend that builds noise for others to hear.
We're each a piece to the puzzle of society,
All of us.
When we can connect to the pieces around us,
We start to build and take shape.
The pieces near us begin to connect to the ones closest to them.
And those spread to even more.
Your voice does travel,
Even if it's one piece at a time.
So with your one piece.
Your one voice.
What kind of puzzle do you want to create?
So whether you're making noise in a crowd or connecting with someone near you,
You're creating momentum.
You're creating a change.
If you think your voice doesn't matter.
Then go ahead and make noise during a moment of silence.
I hope you understand the importance of your words,
And I'm so thankful that you stayed till the end and listened.
Have a wonderful rest of your day.
