Welcome to a sleepy time meditation with me.
My name is Capriela and for today I want you to start in the most comfortable sleeping position that you can think of.
I want you to get yourself fully settled in to this moment and to the space around you.
And when you're ready,
If you haven't done so already,
I invite you to gently close your eyes.
Slowly breathing in,
Taking a big inhale,
Exhale,
Let it go.
Inhale all the way back in,
Taking in as much air as you'd like.
Gently hold it at the top,
And exhale,
Fully release,
Let it go.
Sometimes when we get to the end of the day,
We have a lot that we need to just wash off of us,
Cleanse from our energy,
Let go of our system.
So I invite you to feel a softness in your face,
Letting go of any tension that you have carried with you throughout the day.
Bring your awareness down to your chest,
With only curiosity and without judgment,
Noticing what kind of energy is living within you there.
If it feels heavy,
Be soft with it,
And if it's already light,
Then embrace that.
And with each breath that you take,
Feel the day washing away.
Invite in a groundedness that prepares you for sleep.
Oftentimes our minds run a little wild when we get to this point.
You don't need to overthink or to go too deeply into any one thought,
You just have to be here,
Coming back to the body,
Embracing this moment of stillness and relaxation.
Start to allow your body to get heavy now,
To sink into the bed,
Feeling your weight laying down with gravity,
Embracing the support of the universe,
Knowing that you can fully let go here.
Even if you let go of all the effort,
The tension,
The tightness,
You will still be protected and carried by the universe.
Use your breath to sink down even more,
Letting go a little bit more each time.
Notice how the bed feels on your body,
Maybe your back or your side.
Fully surrender,
I'm so proud of you.
Keep letting go,
You're safe to drift off into sleep.
Focus on the flow of the inhales and the exhales,
And slowly you will drift into a state of full relaxation,
Of restful,
Peaceful sleep.
As this meditation comes to an end,
Stay here wherever you are,
And allow this energy to be carried with you into your restful sleep.
