In today's night time routine meditation,
We will work on preparing you for a full night of restful and restorative sleep,
So that tomorrow you can wake up refreshed and energised,
Ready to tackle anything that life might throw your way.
If you prefer,
You can start this meditation already lying down comfortably in your bed,
So you can fall asleep right after.
But if that is not available to you right now,
You can of course find a comfortable position wherever you are,
And close your eyes.
Really start to deepen your breath.
With your next inhale,
Let your lungs expand and your belly rise all the way before slowly emptying it out through the mouth.
Twice more like that,
Take a deep breath in and exhale out the mouth.
Deep breath in and exhale gently.
And feel yourself already starting to let go.
As we prepare to go deeper into a state of calm,
Let's take a look back at the day thus far and ask yourself what went really,
Really well today.
Gently observe and take notice of what comes up naturally.
Are you able to find a highlight,
Or maybe even two from your day?
Maybe it was the food you ate,
Or a friendly talk with a neighbour.
Take some time to reflect on and fill yourself up with gratitude for the big or small achievements of your day.
And with your next exhale,
Free your mind and bring your thoughts to a gentle stop.
Tomorrow will come and provide opportunity to work on any unfinished business,
Anything that needs to be worked out.
Right now it's time for decompression and calming your mind for a restful and restorative sleep.
If there is any residual tension or strain from today,
Feel it releasing as your gentle inhale and exhale lulls you into a state of deep calmness and ease.
Let your body become light and release any weight you still carry with you.
It is okay to settle down for the day and to gently drift into sleep.
Feel the energy surrounding your body slowly grow heavier and a comfortable weight spread through your body.
Allow yourself to sink deeper and deeper into a restful night's sleep and feel yourself held here as you gently drift off into the land of dreams.
