Hello and welcome to this beautiful Hawaiian native forest.
Join me today for a short forest bathing experience.
Find a comfortable seated or lying down position where you will be envisioning yourself in this forest with me to take in all of the sights and sounds and smells and textures that are around us.
So once you're in your comfortable position,
Be it sitting down or lying down,
Take a deep inhalation and a long exhalation through an open mouth.
And listen to the birds around us as you continue to inhale deeply and exhale loudly.
Do you hear the birds singing around us?
Continue inhaling and exhaling.
Feel your body sink into the forest floor.
It's slightly damp from recent rains,
So it gives way underneath your weight,
Gently supporting your body,
Cradling it.
Hear the mosquitoes buzzing around,
Keeping their distance,
But reminding you of the energy and the life all around you.
Continue your deep inhalations and exhalations.
And as you do,
Smell the sweetness of the crisp air.
The recent rains have made the air smell so sweet.
You can feel it going deep into your lungs.
You hear the droplets falling from the leaves of the trees onto the wet forest floor.
Listen to the breeze rustling through the leaves.
You hear buzzing in the distance,
Almost like the sound of bees in a hive.
Gently move one of your arms and feel the surface below you,
Whatever that surface may be.
This forest floor feels slightly damp.
Listen to the rustle of the leaves.
Feel them crunch under your fingertips.
Continue your deep inhalations and exhalations.
The birds sound like they're coming closer now,
Getting used to your presence.
Feel the energy of the trees that surround you,
Coming up through wherever you are seated or laying down and entering your body,
Filling it with the energy and wisdom of hundreds of years.
Each tree around us is giving us particular electrical currents,
A sacred energy that they've held of all the things that they've witnessed and felt,
And all of the winds that have blown through the forest,
The rains that have twisted them,
And yet they still stand,
Supporting one another.
Some trees have grown fully together.
Notice how there are very,
Very tall trees with big canopies.
And there are also young trees just emerging from the forest floor.
As you fill yourself with the stillness of this forest,
Let the energies of these trees and the life that fills this forest permeate your body and bring you a balance between stillness and energy.
Gently move your hands to the space below you.
Feel it once more and thank it for cradling you,
For holding you.
As we take our final breaths here,
We thank the forest for bringing us steadiness and energy and life.
Bring slow movement to your hands and your feet,
Gently blinking your eyes open.
Thank you for joining me today for a short forest bathing experience.
Please come back next time.
