Find a quiet comfortable place to sit or lie down.
Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths.
Allow yourself to relax and let go of any tension.
Let's begin by taking a few deep breaths.
Breathe in deeply through your nose,
Filling your lungs with air.
Hold it for a moment and then slowly exhale through your mouth.
Let's do this three more times.
Breathe in deeply.
Hold and exhale slowly.
Again breathe in,
Hold and exhale.
One more time.
Breathe in,
Hold and exhale.
Feel your body relaxing more with each breath.
Allow any tension to melt away leaving you calm and at ease.
Now bring your awareness to your body.
Notice any areas of tension or discomfort and gently release them.
Start at the top of your head and slowly move down to your toes relaxing each part of your body as you go.
Notice your scalp,
Your forehead,
Your eyes,
Your cheeks,
Your jaw.
Allow your face to soften and relax.
Move down to your neck,
Your shoulders,
Your arms,
Your hands.
Feel the tension melting away.
Continue to your chest,
Your abdomen,
Your hips,
Your legs,
Your feet.
Let your entire body become relaxed and heavy.
Now bring your attention to your breath.
Notice the natural rhythm of your breathing without trying to change it.
Feel the air as it enters your nostrils,
Travels down to your lungs and then gently leaves your body.
Focus on the sensation of your breath.
If your mind starts to wander,
Gently bring it back to your breath.
Use your breath as an anchor to stay in the present moment.
Imagine yourself in a peaceful serene place.
This could be a quiet beach,
A lush forest or a cozy room.
Picture this place in your mind with as much detail as possible.
Feel the ground beneath you,
The gentle breeze on your skin,
The sounds of nature or the stillness around you.
Allow yourself to fully experience this moment,
Letting go of any thoughts about the past or the future.
As you continue to breathe deeply and relax,
Bring your awareness to the present moment.
Notice the sensations in your body,
The sounds around you and the feeling of your breath.
Remember that the present moment is all you ever truly have.
Embrace it fully,
Without judgment or distraction.
Allow yourself to be completely here and now.
Let's reinforce this sense of presence with some affirmations.
You can repeat these silently in your mind or out loud if you prefer.
I am fully present in this moment.
I embrace the here and now with an open heart.
I let go of the past and trust in the present.
I find peace and joy in the present moment.
I am grounded and centered in the now.
Take a few moments to reflect on these affirmations.
Feel their truth resonating within you.
Know that you can return to this place of peace and presence whenever you need it,
Simply by focusing on your breath and the present moment.
As we come to the end of this meditation,
Take a few deep breaths.
Breathe in the calm and peace you've cultivated and breathe out any remaining tension or negativity.
When you feel ready,
Gently bring your awareness back to the present moment.
Wiggle your fingers and toes,
Stretch if you need to and slowly open your eyes.
Take a moment to notice how you feel.
Carry this sense of presence and mindfulness with you throughout your day and remember that the present moment is a precious gift.
Embrace it fully.
