My little friend,
Welcome to Tinker and Davy's Underwater Kingdom with me,
Georgie.
It's time to get comfy into your bed,
All warm and cosy tucked under your blanket.
Have you got your favourite teddy?
You have?
Good.
Then we're ready.
Gently close your eyes and let your body feel soft and heavy.
Take a deep breath in through your nose and let it out slowly through your mouth.
Let's do that again,
Just like Tinker and Davy do.
Deep breath in through your nose and blow out any worries of your day.
Let's go one more time,
Breathing in lots of calmness and relaxation,
Any little extra bits of worry or tension.
Perfect,
That's just lovely.
So tonight,
Tinker and Davy are going to slip through their magical cat door and swim into an underwater kingdom.
In the middle of the night,
When all was quiet,
Tinker,
Who was a scruffy little black doggie,
And Davy,
Who was only just that little bit bigger,
And he was dark grey and light grey,
Padded towards the extra large cat door that the humans had had to put in for their extra large cat,
Poppy,
The cat door was shimmering and shining.
They could see little flecks of blue,
Like rippling water.
I wonder what's on the other side tonight,
Said Davy,
Wagging his tail.
I don't know,
Davy,
Said Tinker,
But it looks exciting,
Whatever it is.
So together,
They went through the cat door and splash!
Instead of the usual grass beneath their paws,
They landed gently in a glowing underwater world.
But it was okay,
They could easily breathe here,
As if the water was made of dreams.
Tinker and Davy couldn't believe their luck,
One of their favourite things was to go swimming.
So this was just perfect.
In the distance,
They saw a strange but yet familiar creature coming towards them.
Tinker and Davy weren't scared,
Because they could see this creature had a lovely big happy smile on his face.
As it came towards them,
They realised it was a wise old turtle,
Swimming very slowly towards them.
Tinker and Davy weren't worried in the slightest.
You see,
At home,
Not only do they have Molly and Poppy,
The cats,
As their friends,
They also have Tilly the tortoise.
And a turtle looks very much like a tortoise,
But it can swim!
Welcome,
The turtle said kindly.
Tinker and Davy turned to each other,
And they felt a warm glow inside.
Come,
Let me show you the wonders below.
Tinker and Davy gave a giggle.
The turtle's slow voice reminded them just of their friend Tilly at home.
They followed the turtle as it glided through glowing coral gardens.
To the left,
To the right,
To the front and to the back were tiny fish sparkling like jewels.
Darting in and out of the coral.
Swirling and whirling around Tinker and Davy,
The fish looked like they were having lots of fun.
Bobbing along,
Two seahorses with their tails hooked together drifted slowly by like little dancers.
They said as they passed.
Take a deep breath in now,
And imagine the sea air filling your lungs.
And breathing out like you're blowing bubbles.
And another breath in now,
That's it.
And breathing out slowly,
Floating gently like the fish.
Suddenly,
Something came zooming by Tinker and Davy and jumped out of the water and splashed back in again.
It zipped past again,
Jumping and splashing down.
There it came again,
Going up and jumping out of the sea,
Doing a somersault in the air and splashing back down.
What is that?
Said Tinker.
I don't know,
Said Davy,
But it looks like it's having lots of fun.
Oh,
That,
Said the turtle.
That's my friend,
Dizzy Dolphin.
The dolphin leapt ahead gracefully,
Followed by its other friends in its pod.
They circled around Tinker and Davy,
Singing soft,
Happy notes.
Tinker and Davy wagged their tails,
Feeling light and playful.
This is such good fun,
Said Tinker.
But soon,
The dolphins slowed.
Their song becoming gentle and soothing,
Like a lullaby of the sea.
As Tinker and Davy swam on with the turtle,
The dolphins waved a gentle goodbye and swam away on to their next adventure.
The wise old sea turtle took them to a castle made of shining coral.
Wow,
Said Dave.
This is awesome.
Inside,
The walls glowed with soft blue light.
Pearls sparkled like stars beneath the waves.
And a bed of warm sand waited for Tinker and Davy.
Tinker swam down and curled up.
Davy came down and rested gently beside her.
And the sea hummed softly,
Like a mother rocking her child to sleep.
Tinker and Davy nodded off.
Lying in the depths of the deep blue sea with all their wonderful new sea friends around them.
The wise old turtle came to a still and gently closed his eyes.
The seahorse came and hooked themselves onto some coral so they did not drift off with the waves.
And they gently rested their eyes and cuddled up together.
And even all the little fish realised it was bedtime and sleep time.
And one by one,
They drifted down onto the coral to find a gentle resting place for the night.
And in the distance,
The dolphins came to a still and closed their eyes and allowed the sea to bob them to sleep.
And now little one,
Just like Tinker and Davy and all of their sea friends,
You can rest yourself.
So take a slow breath in.
And a gentle breath out.
Feel as if you are floating calm and safe.
And the sea sings to you.
You are safe,
You are calm,
You are so so loved.
You are safe,
You are calm,
You are so so loved.
You are safe,
You are calm,
You are so so loved.
And drift now into dreams as peaceful as the underwater kingdom.
Good night.
Sweet dreams.
