You are now entering a real lucid dream,
A lucid dream lifted from the pages of my very own dream journal.
By listening to this recording,
You'll sow the seeds for a lucid dream of your own later on in the night.
This,
In and of itself,
Can be considered an induction technique,
A simple one granted,
But a technique nonetheless.
By turning the lights off,
Laying down on your bed,
And closing your eyes,
You can simply and effectively induce a lucid dream by leaving this recording on as you drift away.
Let my words,
Let my dream penetrate your subconscious,
Allow it to find its way in,
And allow it to make itself at home.
By falling to sleep with this recording on,
Your mind will be primed,
And your neurons will be wired,
You'll be saturated in the world of lucid dreaming.
So find a quiet spot now,
And get settled in,
Get comfortable,
And my voice will return in a couple of minutes,
To guide you into another world.
For a while,
You sit in a pregnant darkness,
Blank in one sense,
But something is waiting to bloom.
Colours are waiting to push out of the black and into the fore.
Form is waiting to take shape.
A presence,
Waiting,
Just behind the black curtain,
Possibility lurking.
You remain patient in this knowing,
Cognizant that urging development on too soon could lead to a stall,
So you wait,
Breathing deep,
Staying calm,
Content in the knowing that the dream is coming soon.
And then the dream begins,
Your vision coming online,
It's like booting into a video game with a crackle of screen distortion,
And an electronic beep marking the beginning,
As it were.
And this so-called beginning looks like any other beginning would.
A fade-in,
A title screen,
A cinematic score,
You're in your very own movie now,
Your very own interactive movie,
High-definition beyond all reasoning,
So crisp and so alive that it sends your head into a spin,
And for a moment,
You forget you're even dreaming.
Then the titles roll off screen,
And the drama begins,
A wonderful landscape sprawling out before you.
It's in this moment that you vaguely remember what you're doing here,
And you vaguely remember who you are,
That this isn't quite real,
That this character you're playing presently is not quite you.
But you don't grok the full implications of this thought process,
You don't fully realise you're dreaming,
And so instead,
You simply proceed with the word unreal hanging heavy in your consciousness.
Now you're looking at a beautiful sky,
Painted in rich shades of orange and pink.
The sun is setting,
You realise,
And it's quiet,
Except for the sound of birds chirping in the trees above.
You look to your right,
And see an attractive couple walking by through the trees.
Married,
You think,
Recently married.
Somehow,
You know this,
Because,
Of course,
This place is unreal,
And in unreal places,
You have access to information in an unreal way.
And so,
Wanting to congratulate them for their recent marriage,
You wave,
And they warmly approach.
And it's here,
In these beautiful surroundings,
With the setting sun as a backdrop,
That you meet this kind and wholesome couple,
Names unknown.
They seem happy to see you,
In fact,
They act as if they know you,
And in return,
You act as if you know them,
But in reality,
It's no act,
It comes perfectly naturally.
You do know them,
Genuinely.
And so,
You chat,
You walk,
Knowing them without even knowing their names.
You ponder how this could even be,
But all that emerges,
From your mind,
Is the word unreal,
Once more.
The more you interact with this couple,
The more you feel yourself merging with them.
And before you know it,
You lose all sense of your previous identity,
Lose all sense of you,
In fact,
You just are the couple now.
Somehow,
You always were,
A shifting perspective it seems,
But not really,
Rather,
A revealing of a simple truth,
A drawing back of the curtain.
How unreal,
You think.
You have wandered deep into this forest now,
Deep into the overgrowth,
And then,
Upwards,
Upwards towards the heavens in one sense,
But in a more literal sense,
Up the side of a volcano.
The trek is a difficult one,
And you huff and puff in the exertion,
But eventually,
You reach the top,
Both of you,
Your perspective always hovering above,
Looking down,
And now zooming out,
Taking in the magnificence of the soon to be,
Active volcano,
And now,
Just as before,
The perspective shifts again,
As the volcano erupts and the lava flows.
You feel yourself as this molten lava,
Exquisitely hot,
Melting your way down the edge of the volcano,
Down to the forest floor below,
Flowing forward,
Spilling over,
Incinerating everything you come into contact with.
You are destructive in this form,
But you are creating paths anew.
As the lava progresses,
As you progress,
Rather,
You now reach the ocean front and begin to sizzle out,
And as you sizzle out,
You begin to think like a human again,
You begin to wonder how you could have ever been lava.
The lava as a form is alien to you,
You realise now,
You are human,
You remember,
Not this amorphous hot flowing blob,
Yes,
You related to it,
Quite acutely for a while there,
But no,
No,
This is not you,
Your front side cooling,
Back side still boiling,
This is not you.
And it's in this moment that the word unreal returns to you,
Cycling back around,
And it's in this moment too,
That the word morphs into its final form,
Lucid,
Lucid dream,
As your lucid dreaming.
And so,
Now,
You understand the full implications of what's occurring,
Of course,
You think,
How could you have been so slow on the uptake,
You've been dreaming this whole time,
And with this realisation,
The world truly opens up to you,
Your vision zooming out one last time,
Past the volcano,
Through the sky,
And out of the planet itself,
Into space,
And towards the heavens.
Dream big,
Traveller,
Take the reins from here,
If you listened to this lucid dreaming story just for fun,
I hope you enjoyed it,
And if you listened for induction purposes,
Then I hope this parting message now finds you relaxed and drifting,
Your lucid dreaming seeds have been sown,
Your mind has been primed,
And you are ready for sleep.
And so,
With that,
I draw this session to a close.
Remember,
You are a lucid dreamer,
Never forget it.
