This is a brief, slightly unorthodox meditation, where I will guide you in a few minutes to finding your innate 'chillness'. The purpose of this meditation is to let go of troubles and buzzing thinking leftover from the day and to deeply relax in that feeling of 'chillness'.

Hi there,

This is just a brief meditation to let go of the day and find what I like to call chillness.

For me,

Chillness is a state where you relax back and completely let go of trying to work things out and chasing thoughts.

Instead,

We just let everything flow where it wants without interference,

Safe in the knowledge that thoughts are only thoughts,

Cannot hurt us and are often fleeting and impermanent.

So,

With that introduction out the way,

Let's begin this short wind-down meditation.

So,

Perhaps the mind is racing or buzzing with thoughts right now or perhaps it's starting to wind down already,

Still with a little bit of activity but ultimately ready to relax and let go.

What we're going to do here is just gently facilitate that relaxing and that letting go.

So,

If you've found somewhere comfortable,

That's great.

If you haven't,

That's okay,

That's fine.

We'll only be here for a minute or two so it won't be long.

I'd like you just to close your eyes gently and become softly aware of your thoughts and your thinking.

Just a soft,

Gentle awareness.

Not trying at all,

Just seeing.

Now I'd like you in your own time and when you're ready,

Just to feel yourself stepping out of the hype and the buzz into chillness and if you'd like to help with this,

You can imagine a column,

A sort of beam of this buzzing and this hype going up into the air and you just step out of it,

Flop down and land gently in a comfortable,

Tranquil essence of chillness.

You can watch the buzzing in front of you with ease because you've left it behind now.

There's no need to interact with any thoughts,

Any thinking or feeling the need to work things out.

Just let it flow freely without trying to interfere.

They're impermanent,

Fleeting,

Elusive.

They're part of the hype and the buzz and that's over there now.

You've stepped out of it.

You were tangled up in it but now you've just flopped backwards and you've found this chillness.

Allow yourself that freedom,

Letting them flow freely through you,

Letting all matters go,

All problems and questions of the day flying away.

They're not of any use now.

They're only there to help but now they're not needed.

Now it's time to relax,

So let them all go.

They're just thoughts,

Just thinking,

Immaterial,

Flitting into and out of the mind.

So let's just sit back and be chill.

No need for any action.

If you feel yourself wanting to interact,

Starting to feel worried about them,

Just say,

Ah,

It's chill and let it go.

This is chillness.

Nothing matters.

Nothing is needed.

Everything is innately chill.

The mind,

The world around us,

The minds of others,

Everything is innately chill.

Now let's just take a moment to appreciate the stillness,

To sit back and really kick your feet up.

If it helps,

Try slowing down when you speak,

Either loud or in your head.

A little bit like I'm speaking now,

Slowly measured.

No need to hurry now.

Never really any need to hurry and speaking in this way can help us to realise this.

This in turn can help us to feel calm and really connect with that innate chillness again,

Helping us to step out of the hype and the buzz of every day and be in touch with the innate chillness of the world.

Now,

Just taking a big deep breath through the nose and as you exhale deeply through the mouth,

Slowly opening the eyes again to the chill world and just continue to relax.

I hope that this short meditation has helped you to let go and find closure with the day today,

Finding your innate chillness.

Thanks for coming and I really hope to see you again soon.
