Welcome to a meditation to help you soften your thoughts This is perfect If you're feeling a little bit overwhelmed and overthinking and you can't seem to calm down your mind So let's just start by getting comfortable Whatever that looks and feel likes for you.
You can be sitting or lying down and as you get comfortable Just closing down your eyes When we close down our eyes,
We're allowed to go inward more not getting distracted by all the outside environment Let's go inward and let's just get mindful of what's happening with your thoughts right now If they're going a mile a minute just allow them to go a mile a minute if they're scattered let them be scattered if they're Really loud just let them be loud and just let your thoughts do whatever they're doing Even if it feels intense Even if it feels a little bit overwhelming,
But let's do this without Judgment,
Let's just see our thoughts as thoughts.
They are just a part of us.
They're working in overdrive Let's just look at them with compassion and not judge them if they're good or bad Just being present with whatever is happening and whatever your experience is right now and as we are getting Curious about them without judging only with compassion.
I'd love for you to visualize What do these thoughts actually look like?
Is it just words or are they shapes or is it just energy?
Getting curious on your current Experience right now.
Are there any colors?
There any images that come up getting mindful of what's happening in your headspace getting intimate with your thoughts Getting intimate with the energy that's happening inside your head and I'd love for you right now Just to feel into the intensity of what your thoughts are in your headspace How intense are they and without judgment just thinking of a number between one and ten ten being really intense?
And one being not at all.
How intense are your thoughts?
Right now I'm being honest and truthful,
But I'm just wondering if we can just soften them By even one number thoughts were out of seven Can you bring them just down to a six by just softening your thoughts energy?
Softening the colors softening the shapes Softening the intensity they're still there.
How much can you just soften them slow them down?
They're still there,
But we're just slowing them down and it's okay Even if it's a half of point of intensity just slowing down your thoughts And I'd love for you right now to think of a thought That's been coming up a lot for you lately or one that's really intense One that you can think of right off the bat that has been in your head for a really long time That's maybe really loud.
Maybe really obnoxious It is in your head if you can just think of one thought right now and just being present with it Whatever it looks like in your head Maybe it has its own shape image or energy to it.
Just allowing it to be there.
It's okay for it to be there We're not going to judge it.
Let's look at it.
Now the different twist a twist of compassion And I'm just curious if that thought is true Is it really true and with a shadow of a doubt,
You know that that thought is True and maybe there is some truth to it,
But maybe not Maybe there's parts of it that are true But I'd love for you to open up your mind and see the whole truth just expanding that thought being present with it seeing it and feeling into what is actually true and seeing if We can just soften the intensity of that thought just even by a little bit By thinking of ways in which it's not true giving your mind evidence Of the truth.
Just being with that thought and with it being softened even by just a little bit Let it go back with all the others and I'd love for you just right now As you can see your thoughts in your mind How intense are they right now?
Is it the same number as before or is it softer?
And taking a moment and sending gratitude to these thoughts They are what make you brilliant They allow you to think about things.
They allow you to have a human experience Sometimes if you're feeling a little overwhelmed overthinking Make sure you come back to this practice so that you can just soften them.
So we need thoughts But we don't need them to be intense Or taking over our lives taking a moment and keep taking a couple deep breaths and coming back into the space And feeling the chair or bed or whatever's underneath you feeling the walls around you before you open your eyes And just taking a moment just being present with what's here and now being present with this whole human experience of feeling Thinking and being and opening up your eyes,
And I'm acknowledging you right now for taking the time To soften your thoughts.
It's not always easy But thank you so much for showing up for yourself,
