Welcome to this solstice practice.
This is intended as a winter solstice meditation,
But you can also use it for the summer solstice or any time you just want to go deeper within and explore all the parts of yourself.
So I invite you to just come fully into this present moment,
Whether you're seated or laying down,
Just feeling into all the edges of your physical body,
Noticing your feet,
Noticing the support beneath you,
Noticing your shoulders,
Your jaw,
Your belly,
And your crown.
Noticing the subtle energy movements within your body,
Maybe the pulse of your heartbeat,
Maybe a stirring in your feet and in your palms,
And maybe even in your crown.
Just be here and notice how you settle into this sovereign space.
The solstice is that blessed invitation to go within,
To notice the stillness,
To pay attention at a deeper level to the darkness and also to the light.
So today in our practice,
We're going to pay attention first to the darker aspects of ourselves,
The pain from our past,
The things we wish we could change,
Those aspects which we sometimes struggle with or struggle against.
We don't always make time to pay attention to these aspects.
The solstice gives us that beautiful opportunity to notice.
What are all the ways that you struggle,
Dear one?
Allow yourself to notice this aspect of yourself.
Perhaps you struggle with your health or perhaps in a relationship or perhaps you struggle with time or a sense of not measuring up.
Allow the quietude of the solstice,
The slowing down to simply hold and envelop this part of your experience.
And in that holding,
There is acceptance.
What does it feel to be with that discomfort or that irritation or that frustration?
What does it feel like to simply hold it,
Witness it and allow it without needing to change anything?
This is what the solstice offers.
So now just take some moments to really lean into that holding,
To really allow whatever there is to allow without struggling against.
Go into that darkness now knowing that it is just a natural,
Normal part of you.
It is not something that needs to be fixed or changed in order for you to be happy.
If you like,
You can even place a hand on your heart or a hand on your belly and simply hold.
Allow.
Try to do nothing but only rely solely on your İsles discussions happening when you Oh Oh And just breathe And just let it all go Notice if you have been holding any tension as you've been holding any discomfort And with a sigh just let it all go Oh The solstice is also equal parts light We're not used to being still In the presence of the light we're used to being active.
We're used to doing And going and moving So take that same energy of the holding and the allowing And notice what it is that is being called forth What is it that you are?
Desiring to lean towards into the light What is it that you are calling forth into your experience?
Is it wholeness?
Is it peace is it joy is it a relationship?
Is it an opportunity?
Is it health is it wealth?
What is that thing that creates that stir of energy inside your belly and your chest That energy inside your belly and your chest What would it be like instead of doing and going and striving for this What would it be like to simply hold?
To accept to allow this To come into your experience without your actual doing Notice where you feel that excitement in your body Notice where you feel the wag of that tail Where you feel your heart smiling your face smiling And notice the urge to lean to strive to reach All of this is what makes you human Notice how it feels the lightness Coming from the sun Coming from the sun And if you like place a hand on your heart a hand on your belly or maybe on your solar plexus Maybe on your throat Follow the energy And practice that wonderful skill of allowing Of accepting of holding All that you desire can be held within your heart all that and so much more So take some time here And practice that holding that acceptance that allowing That acceptance that allowing Oh Oh Imagine now the winter solstice fire or the fire of the sun Imagine it in front of you with each exhalation your breath invigorates this fire The flames grow taller and taller Breathing in balance the balance of the solstice Breathing out the oxygen the flames of your heart needs to grow Breathing in acceptance Breathing out invigorating energy growing those flames ever higher Breathing in all of the allowing and the holding Everything that you can from the fire of the sun Breathing in everything that you can from this whole experience and one Epic intention Breathing in and as if gold and light just comes pouring out of you Bless that fire With your love and your attention And with your intention as if your care your struggle your worry Were written on a piece of paper You can fold that paper up And place it in the depth of that fire and allow the flames to transmute it Hearing now the crackling of the fire seeing the sparkle of the embers and the bits soaring up into the heavens Allowing the flames to transform And transmute Everything that you're ready to let go of And allowing the heat that warmth of that fire To invigorate and enliven your entire energy system Allowing that fire to fuel your passion For whatever you wish to create in the new season Whatever your heart is longing for Allow this beautiful flame this cleansing flame this invigorating flame To light the way forward into the days and weeks ahead as you begin A journey into a new season in your life Placing your heart in the fire of your passion And placing again that hand on your heart or keeping it on your heart Allowing the warmth of this fire to reside within you Allowing this energy to cleanse you and to fill you up from head to toe Know that this practice is available to you at any time of year anytime you need to find that balance To sit with and hold and explore that which is uncomfortable and that which your heart longs for The twin aspects of the solstice and when you feel ready come back fully into this time and this place And let go of the pain of the past Come back fully into this time and this place Feeling into all the edges of your beautiful blessed vessel Feeling your feet the support beneath you your shoulders tummy your jaw your crown Wiggling your fingers wiggling your toes stretching as needed and opening your eyes Giving thanks for another moment another chance another opportunity to be at home and at peace with yourself for now and always Thank you so much for practicing with me today
