A meditation on deservingness.
Position yourself in a comfortable place where you feel supported,
Where you sense the earth beneath you,
Where you can settle in to a comfort,
The comfort of deservingness.
The world will tell you that you are not deserving,
That love is conditional,
That you'll only be rewarded for your efforts,
For your production value,
For what you bring to the table.
The world will tell you that you and you alone are not enough to warrant a worthiness badge.
You and you alone are not deserving.
Deserving of everything your heart desires,
Deserving of the fulfillment of your soul's contract,
Deserving of unconditional love and belonging.
But you know this isn't true.
You know it's a lie.
Yes it's a lie that we've all believed from time to time.
But if you get really quiet,
Really still,
You know it's true.
You know that the truth of who you are is alone enough to warrant deservingness.
You deserve love.
You deserve acceptance.
You deserve joy and play and fun and health and wealth and friendships and romance and travel and shelter.
You deserve to have soil beneath your fingernails just because you want to.
You deserve to enjoy flowers that pop up in spring,
Leaves that fall in the harvest time.
You deserve to make snowmen and go to the beach.
You deserve puppy kisses,
Dark chocolate,
Starry nights,
Train rides,
Hot tubs.
You deserve mountain peaks,
Vast open plains,
Watery depths.
You deserve all of it simply because you are.
What does it feel like when you allow yourself to embrace this truth,
This truth that you know in your bones to be your truth?
What does it feel like to deserve?
And what are you craving to be your reality?
Give it voice.
Give it wings.
Give it blood.
Give it your love.
Give it your joy.
Give it your prayers.
Give it your all.
This is your birthright.
