Transcript

Releasing feelings of anger and stress.

Take up your meditation position,

Sitting cross legged or on a chair with feet on the ground.

Have a straight back,

Chin slightly tucked so the crown of the head is pointing upwards.

And before closing the eyes we put our hands in apana mudra,

Stimulating the liver and gallbladder.

Bringing the tips of the thumb,

Ring and middle fingers together.

Extending our pinky and index finger.

Then resting the hands in your lap and when you are ready,

Closing your eyes.

This meditation is based on traditional Chinese medicine,

Where liver and gallbladder are paired and known as the wood element and associated with the emotions of anger and feelings of stress.

If we have angry or stressful feelings for an extended period of time,

They will be stored in the liver.

This meditation is designed to start relieving such feelings.

And the liver is closely related to the lungs.

So we start by taking 10 deep breaths,

Making in and exhales equally long.

And when breathing in you send a beautiful emerald light towards the liver on the right side of your body.

If you find it difficult to breathe in the green light and send it to the liver,

Just focus your full attention on the liver located at the right side of your body.

Start breathing into it,

Noticing any bodily sensations.

Enjoy.

Continue the 10 cycles of deep breaths or if you have finished.

And some appreciation to the liver,

An inner smile,

Some love,

Whatever comes to mind.

And as I said,

Liver is associated with feelings of anger and stress.

So let's take a moment to reflect on any such feelings.

Maybe it's easy for you to identify any stressors and sources of anger.

Or maybe it's more under the surface and you would speak more about feelings of frustration.

Or even more subtle,

Maybe you feel okay.

But then you are aware that once you're on the road driving a vehicle,

You experience road rage.

Road rage is an indicator that the liver is slightly out of balance.

And as always just observe what comes to mind when you're reflecting on anger and stress.

Try not to attach yourself to a specific situation or person.

Taking a step back,

Being an observer,

Just noting if you have been angry,

If you have been stressed and what may have caused that.

Take as long as you need.

And you can always pause this recording if I'm going too fast for you.

If your mudra,

Your hands and fingers are no longer comfortable you may always release.

Now TCM also pairs sounds with these emotions and organs to relieve any stored emotions.

And I'll give you two minutes to make this sound that I will demonstrate to you shortly.

The choice is yours if you want to make the sound for the full two minutes or just a couple of times.

You may stop at any time and return to normal breathing,

Observing your body,

Breath or mind.

And this is the sound to release feelings of anger and stress.

Shhhhhhhh like shushing.

Go ahead.

Focus.

.

Final two or three breaths releasing feelings of anger and stress if you have finished return to normal breathing releasing the hands the mudras if you like take a moment to notice how you feel after this breathing practice and take all the time you need to return to life opening the eyes only when you are ready thank you for joining me namaste
