Make yourself comfortable either sitting or lying down.
Allowing your gaze to fall and maybe let your eyes close if that feels safe for you.
Settle in by taking a full breath in and out.
As you take the next breath in,
Fill your body with luminous light.
Hold the breath at the top as the light brightens and exhale fully from your mouth,
Releasing anything that no longer serves you.
Take another deep breath in filled with light.
And exhale out.
Take a final breath in this way and start to relax your body as you exhale out.
Take your awareness to the top of your head and take a moment to scan down your whole body in your own time.
Using awareness to any spots of tension,
Where can you feel tightness or discomfort?
Pay extra attention to these areas as we now begin to scan the body together.
Take your awareness to the top of your head,
Feeling a wave of relaxation down your scalp,
Your forehead and loosening the muscles between your eyebrows,
Releasing fully.
Loosening completely.
Let your lips part,
Your jaw unclench,
Your tongue relax.
Letting all the tiny muscles in your face melt.
Breathe away any tension from your face.
Let your shoulders drop down to the ground.
Make any micro adjustments and allow your neck and shoulders to wash away any tension or unease.
Inviting softness and peace.
Feel a wave of relaxation flow down your arms,
Elbows,
Wrists and visualise any energy that is no longer serving you release completely from the tips of your fingers,
Melting further.
Now take your attention to the top of your neck and allow vertebrae by vertebrae down your spine to relax completely.
Relaxing all of your back muscles.
Relax your right hip and left hip.
Inviting an openness and unclenching any muscles in your glutes and thighs.
Dropping further into relaxation.
Allow your shins and calves to relax completely.
Inviting a gentle softness to your ankles.
Relaxing the tops of your feet and the bottom of your soles.
Let any residual tension or stagnant energy leave from the tips of your toes and out of your body.
Scan your body from head to toe again.
This time feeling the sensation of peace,
Tranquility and alignment.
If there is any remaining tension in any area of your body,
Take your attention to it and breathe into it.
Breathing deeply for a few moments to release and unwind.
You can take your time to continue this practice and when you are ready gently flutter your eyes open and invite peace and calm into your day or night.
