On truth and power.
You may have had the experience where you read something beautiful or saw a dance performance or a piece of artwork or heard a song and the truth of it rang out to you like a clarion call.
It made you want to work better.
It made you want to be a better person.
And then the performance was over or you left the museum or finished the book or the song stopped.
And you thought,
Who me?
Not me.
I can't be that powerful.
We have a cultural script that says that certain people are great and others are mediocre.
If we are struggling it's easier to believe that we are mediocre.
This is a lie.
Not only is it a lie that you are mediocre,
It is also a lie that certain people are great and others are not.
It is connected to the lie that some people have power and others do not.
Let's pause now.
Check in with your body.
Feel where her greatness resides.
Feel the power of your breath.
As you listen to this tree sky meditation,
Hold the power,
Feel the power,
Listen to the power that you have within.
Let's pause now.
Check in with your body.
Feel the power,
Feel the power,
Listen to the power that you have within.
Let's pause now.
Check in with your body.
Feel the power,
Feel the power,
Listen to the power that you have within.
Let's pause now.
Check in with your body.
Feel the power,
Feel the power,
Listen to the power that you have within.
Let's pause now.
Check in with your body.
Let's pause now.
Let's pause now.
Let's pause now.
Let's pause now.
Let's pause now.
Let's pause now.
Let's pause now.
Let's pause now.
Let's pause now.
Let's pause now.
Let's pause now.
Let's pause now.
Let's pause now.
Let's pause now.
Let's pause now.
Let's pause now.
Let's pause now.
Let's pause now.
Let's pause now.
Let's pause now.
Let's pause now.
Reflect now on how you could feel this deep truth within yourself daily.
Society perpetuates the lie of our weakness because this helps to keep the system of inequality in place.
It also helps to uphold an economic system that says if you buy certain things,
Then your worth will be greater.
Let's return to that experience of reading something that allowed you to touch a sense of truth.
Take a moment and close your eyes and feel this again as I read you my poem called From Pattern to Power.
A pattern can be a rug,
A sky,
Or a weapon to the eye.
A repetition of beauty or pain coming back again and again.
A passion is a leap of the heart each time a fresh start.
A green shoot of hope in the spring.
A new thing,
New thing.
A priority is a letter in the mail,
A due date,
A blanket thrown off in haste.
In the forward motion,
Time disappears with no fears,
No fears.
Water is a hidden source of light,
A sun in the belly,
Hot and bright.
What sustains over seasons with good reasons,
Good reasons.
Now think of a doubt you have about yourself and compare how this feels to the feeling of truth that you access while listening deep within.
Feel the difference?
Let's journal now.
We'll write the following phrase five times in our journals and complete each one.
My truth is My truth is My truth is My truth is My truth is It will take some time now to complete each of these phrases.
My truth is My truth is My truth is Very good.
Put your journal to the side.
And your homework for this week is to live in the truth of your greatness.
Live with truth as a clock that always says the time is now to claim your power.
There is no such thing as a true story that keeps you from your power.
Live in the story of the truth of your power.
