Reflections at Dawn I am sitting in my spacious conservatory and imagine it's my secret observatory.
But instead of twinkling stars and faraway planets,
I observe the morning lights from nearby hamlets.
My ears are enjoying the cheerful dawn chorus,
Blackbirds,
Wrens,
Thrushes and wobblers.
A red-breasted robin hops on the windowsill.
I smile at the bird in admiration of its singing skill.
When I stand up to walk out of the French door,
My nose is treated to fragrances galore.
I take a deep breath and feel the fresh air entering my lungs.
That's perfect self-care.
My deep exhalation is filled with tension and worry and so I choose to let them go as easily as a snow flurry.
I breathe in again and fill my heart with gratitude for all the love in my life and positive attitude.
I pick up my new cup with brightly painted flowers,
So English,
So stylish,
I could hold it for hours,
And take a sip from my caramel-flavored frothy coffee,
Which brings childhood memories of sweet-smelling toffee.
My soul begins to dance when the first sun rays appear.
Now I'm ready to commence my day with happiness and cheer.
