Taoist Lineage holder Bruce Frantzis leads you through the 14th lesson in a series of 14, all of which help you to extend the length of your breath and to fully bring oxygen to the back and side of the lungs, areas rarely engaged by shallow breathers. You will also learn to feel your breath, to avoid holding your breath, as well as how to breath into different parts of the body to strengthen and massage the internal organs and spine. Understanding these techniques enables you to become aware of your emotions and deepen your meditative focus. *Please note that this track is one of several. We encourage you to treat the program as a whole and recommend listening through them, in order, before practicing. In part, this is because Bruce presents a large volume of information at a fairly rapid rate, but we assure you that as the lessons progress, the guidance becomes less instructional, the pacing slows, and the meditatations become the main focus of the program. May you practice well!

Transcript

You have now completed 12 lessons of Daoist breathing.

What you wanted to have gotten out of this is to be able to either breathe with a 3 second inhale and exhale,

A 4 second inhale and exhale,

Or a 5 second inhale and exhale comfortably and easily without any strain.

You want to be able to breathe through your central channel,

Down your central channel on the inhale,

Up from your central channel on the exhale,

And going through using your lower internal organs,

The internal organs on the side of your body,

Your kidneys,

And your upper lungs,

Using the back of your lungs but not the front of your chest to breathe,

As well as breathing around the dai mai,

And if you reach an advanced level,

Being able to breathe in and out from your etheric body into your dandiya.

If you practice these over and over again,

Having no need to go on to the next step before the one before it is comfortable and completed,

By the end of this,

The breathing process should be very stable inside of you.

So doing a 10 second breath should be very easy.

Five seconds on the inhale and five seconds on the exhale.

Tape 2 in this series will now focus more on the meditative aspects of what you're doing while you're breathing.

And before that is begun,

Truly you should be able to do a 10 second breath,

Five seconds on the inhale and five seconds on the exhale,

In a very relaxed fashion without any strain.

So you don't have to think about how you breathe,

You only have to focus on the act of how well you're doing it,

Not if you're activating all the parts on the inside of your body to do it.

So Tape 2 will begin from that beginning position that now you have done everything in this tape,

Having gone through it as many times as you need to,

So that you can do a 10 second breath comfortably and easily,

Being able to do all the instructions that are in this tape without any strain.

It was a pleasure working with you and I wish you luck and success when you move on to Tape 2.
