In this soothing bedtime story, Cozi the Owl gently guides your child on a magical journey through the natural world, revealing how everything is beautifully, invisibly connected. From the breath in our lungs to the light of distant stars… From trees that whisper through their roots to waves in the ocean that never leave the sea… This story invites children ages 4–12 to feel a deep sense of belonging, calm, and awe. We Are One is a gentle reminder that we are not separate from life — We are part of it. Rooted like trees. Moving like rivers. Held by the same starlight that created the cosmos. --- From The Cozi Nest collection of mindful, magical bedtime stories Written by mindfulness expert Emma Reynolds Music by Simurg_UA on Pixabay

Hello my little wonder.

Cozy here.

Are you tucked in safely?

Good.

Let your eyes grow soft and your breath grow slow.

In and out.

Like the wind through the trees.

Tonight let's take a journey,

Not with your feet,

But with your heart.

A journey that shows how everything is connected and how you are part of something much,

Much bigger.

Ready?

Let's begin.

Have you ever wondered how everything in the world is connected?

From the tiniest raindrop to the tallest tree?

From your heartbeat to the shining stars above?

Everything belongs to one great glowing whole.

Close your eyes.

Take a deep breath.

Feel the air filling your lungs.

That same air was once inside a cloud.

Inside the ocean mist.

Inside the wings of a bird flying high above the mountains.

The air that fills you now has travelled through trees,

Oceans,

Whales and wildflowers.

It moves through everything,

Connecting all life in one great invisible dance.

Now imagine the sun shining above you.

Its golden rays touch the tops of trees,

Warm the rivers and light up your face.

That same sunlight gives energy to plants,

Feeds the fruit you eat and warms your skin when you step outside.

The sunlight you feel is ancient and shared.

Passed from sky to seed to soil to you.

And so you carry a bit of the sun inside you too.

Look at a tree next time you pass one.

Its roots stretch deep into the dark rich earth.

Its branches reach high into the sky,

Catching wind and light.

You are just like that tree.

Connected to the ground that holds you.

And to the sky that watches over you.

You too are rooted.

You too are rising.

And beneath the soil something even more magical is happening.

Tiny threads of roots and fungi stretch out from one tree to another,

Forming an underground web.

Trees whisper to each other through these threads.

They share food.

They send warnings.

They pass along wisdom.

Even the trees know nothing grows alone.

Now,

Have you ever heard a river?

A river carries stories as it flows.

The echoes of a mountain.

The memory of rain.

The songs of forests that it has kissed along the way.

And just like the river,

You are always moving.

You are learning,

Growing,

Changing.

Carrying your own stories with you as you go.

Look up at the stars shining quietly above.

Did you know the atoms in your body,

Your bones,

Your breath,

Your spark,

Once came from ancient stars?

Long ago,

Stars exploded with light,

Sending pieces of themselves out into the universe.

Some of those pieces became you.

You are stardust.

You are moonlight.

You are part of the galaxy's oldest dreams.

Think of a wave in the ocean.

It rises.

It falls.

But it never stops being part of the sea.

Even when it moves in its own way,

It belongs to something greater.

Just like you.

You are always held by something bigger than yourself.

Even when you feel small or separate,

You are never truly alone.

Even your thoughts and feelings ripple out like waves.

A kind word,

A soft smile,

A loving thought.

These move through the world,

Touching others,

Even if you don't see it.

Kindness spreads like sunlight.

Love echoes like laughter.

You are part of the light that helps others grow.

All around you,

Life is weaving itself together.

Animals,

Trees,

People,

Water,

Wind and sky.

We all breathe the same air.

We all live on the same earth.

We all feel.

And we all belong.

Every heartbeat,

Every footstep,

Every dream is part of one great,

Beautiful pattern.

So if you ever feel alone or different or unsure,

Just remember,

You are like a thread in a great,

Endless web.

You may not see the whole design,

But you are part of it.

Needed.

Loved.

Never left out.

The stars above.

The trees outside.

The people near and far.

They are all your companions in this journey.

You are not apart from the world.

You are a piece of it.

Like a leaf in the wind,

Or a wave in the ocean,

Or a light in the sky.

You are part of the universe's great song,

And the song would not be the same without you.

So my love,

Now take a deep breath in and let it go.

Let yourself feel the connection,

Soft and quiet,

All around you.

You belong to the stars.

You belong to the earth.

You belong to life.

You are loved.

You are needed.

You are one.

Sleep gently now,

My glowing thread in the web of everything.

The stars are watching.

The trees are breathing.

And you are held,

Exactly as you are.
